its a great film, made very well. kinda intense...and it makes you think. humanity...humanity... anyone seen it? if not- i recommend
i heard about it but i've never seen if i ever get around to renting movies thisll be one of them!! i also want to see.. the one with jim carrey and kate winslet? on the tip of my tongue here.......
The Painist was directed by Roman Polanski. I think its the best movie about ww2 and the holocaust ever made, very moving, very disturbing, and the production is incredible...not to mention adrian brody who was great.
it is very, very moving, especially if youve ever fantasized about being a musician. the acting is fantastic, i cry so much when he is reunited with his passion (hope that doesnt give away too much)
I thought it was awesome. Foxey I couldn't agree more... Adrian Brody MADE that film what it is, it's beautiful. I love the emotions that run through that movie. For those of you who haven't seen it ... watch it, but keep the kleenex handy!
i love historical films and have been meaning to get around to this one, but havent because i know its pretty heavy. i know ill end up in tears
I cried like a baby while watching it! I loved the film. Very intense and moving. It makes you think A LOT, that's very true
I have seen the movie but, it twas a long time ago and I was quite young and only can remember nudity!! So.. I guess I will have to watch it again.
i am pretty sure you are talking about a movie called the piano, not the pianist. the pianist came out in the last couple years, and had no nudity. i remember catching a glimpse of this movie also when i was young, and there are lots of sex scenes i think. very different movies
Better than Schindlers list?? It's on tonight on Sky Movies 9 @ 10pm for anyone in the UK or Ireland with sky digital. I must watch it.
Some movies like the Schindler's List was quite good but I think the film industry (mainly hollywood) have spoiled the subject. So my objection has three aspects: *These movies are profiting over "jewish massacre" theme. *There are enough movies that empasize the jewish victims of the war. How about Roma people, the starving Ukranians, homosexuals, political and ideological opponents, the disabled citizens that were killed and sent to concentration camps? * It would be nice if there were a movie telling the story of the Palestinians living in their unrecognized "ghetto state" But which "secret national capital" would finance that?
The book was ten times better. Yet both were extremely weak compared to other holocust books and movies.
Watched it last night, quality film, wouldn't mind getting my hands on the soundtrack some great music in it for anyone who likes classical stuff.I agree with Maes that other films like he has mentioned should be made but unfortunately they wouldn't have the same mass hollywood appeal. Most Americans would be appalled at movie about the Palestinians as they think they are just trouble causing terrorist scum. I think the thread on Yasser Arafats death in Random Thoughts alone points this out. http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44076
