A CV is what we dumb Americans call a resume, Deranged. You probably don't recognize that word either since you've probably never had a job.

no i think this is something like an aouthobiography when you candidate for a certain job.
and because this is the first one i write and i have no experience i need somebody to tell me what exactly do i need to write, except them things i have mentioned.
i mean there is a competiton for sure and i want my CV to distinguish with something, but like i said this is the first one i am going to write ever and i don`t know what exactly to write on it!

Look at templates online. Off the top of my head, you need your personal/contact info, experience, education, skills and languages, and objective. But it varies from country to country.

Here you also need a cover letter saying why you and the company/organization you're applying for are a good match.

    And that includes a n00d, btw. j/k

and just to note - a CV is a bit different than a resume...

i just went through a whole process of revamping my whole resume and interviewing skills and job searching style

i started with the interview (practice interview where i went in and had an interview for the type of job i wanted) and then worked my way back to doing my resume. so by the time i got back to my resume it was pretty much done and all i had to do was insert my relevant experiences and specific abilities and skills I have gained. and its always a work in progress - slightly changing every now and then for different types of jobs

right on, well good luck with your job. ::hint hint:: use your looks

i'd give some real advice, but i dunno if what applies here would work overseas.

It depends on what you want to focus on. You can write a skills based CV or simply a chronological one.

Just make sure to format it in accordance to the job you're seeking.

There are some great examples on the internetz.

I actually just helped my mom edit her resume today.

I'm almost inclined to say "a CV is the art of lying without ever being found to be lying".But I've decided not to.
In England, someone is "born with a good CV" or has to work hard or lies/is lucky/ a mixture.Anyway England is shit.

From 16 to mid 20s my life was all CY building. Now I'll never write one again.

    British CV page 1
    name , address , age
    academic qualifications and schools/colleges etc
    qualifications/awards etc

    page 2
    employment and job descriptions
    achievements- non academic
    interests and hobbies

    page 3 optional
    referees

Seriously it deps on the job u want.If u wanna send it to me, I'll give u a critique.

I had a CV from a Mrs Rubin today...
Altho I can't say her first name, as confidentiality is guaranteed for all employees. And the website blurs their faces too.

    Hi,

I can't come up with examples, but I have some thoughts about the topic. Keep in mind that CVs may be different in different areas of the world. The structure of the CVs depends on the size of the company and it depends highly on the mood of the personnel manager. Unfortunately the last one is unpredictable. One should consider the type of job, too, this is banking or creative things or engeneering etc.

I searched some CVs on the internet and took them as a framework or starting point. Then I filled it with meat. After that I wrote a covering letter where I depicted one or two projects I've done. But not in deep detail. Details can be looked up in the CV itself. Some time later I read the covering letter and the CV again. If it made me curious about the person who wrote it (me ;-) all is fine.

You find lots of tips like do this, hell don't do that etc. In general I stay away from such tips. Think about the personell manager. Maybe she receives 300 CVs per day. In the first round she throws away all CVs that are strange coloured or that she don't like for some other reasons. Then all CVs with to much or dense text on the covering letter are out, etc. Somehow you have to survive this selection process.

EDIT: Oh, and make it technically perfect. Make sure aligned blocks of text are aligned. Don't use spaces for alignment. Use the correct spacing between words. abbrevs. and between sentences. If you use some sort of on-line application process you may want to send a pdf file. Don't let it become too huge. This goals may be hard to reach with common word processors. But invest the time.

    Good luck
    Gyro

Personal info - dob, address, phone, email, etc.
    Education, school & courses
Work experience, if you have any.
Languages and level of fluency, I like to put my hobbies and interests as well, and computer skills.

IMO, the most important thing is that it looks clean and organized. There are indeed some great examples on the Internet, I found a template online that I've used for years; it looks fucking great and has landed me a lot of interviews.

Just put "FUCK THE MAN!" in there somewhere and you'll be OK.
