where to go on the 4th in the bay area?

I'm staying near San Francisco right now and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to enjoy the events of the 4th of July? Perhaps some place with music or other fun happenings. The only thing that I could find on the net was at Fisherman's wharf, and I quote, "San Francisco's favorite 80's cover band, 'Tainted Love' from 6-9:30PM” haha Despite it being all of San Francisco's favorite, it's not exactly what I was looking for. Maybe I just need to give a little tainted love a chance, or maybe not.
