Well we've all heard how similar benzos (particularily xanax and klonopin) are to alcohol, well what are the main differences. From what I've read it seems the main differences are:

    No/barely any nausea
    Not as much dizziness
    More amnesia (forgetting the experience)
    More euphoria

What else is there and in your experience, what would you say the main differences are?

benzos are deff. better in every way.

best part imo is that i don't get a hangover, just pleasant feeling of well-being the day after i take xanax.

IMO benzo's cause more of a hangover effect (not feeling shitty, just takes A LOT longer to wake up and get out of your morning sleepiness. SO hard to get out of bed after a night of xanax)
AND i think alcohol gives more euphoria than benzo's.
    they both have their perks

For me, alcohol gives me TERRIBLE nausea, and I just hate drinking it, which is why benzos seem so appealing to me (I've only tried ativan in low doses and phenazepam which was really weird, so I haven't really had a proper benzo experience yet, however I should once my package of 50 klonopin and 50 xanax tabs comes in:D)

I think benzos are a lot more addictive, and dangerous...you'll get sick on alcohol way before doing something too stupid...but with benzos you'll be blacked out and could do ANYthing before you've even realised it...15,000$ in auto damages is my evidence of that

Ouch, sounds bad. But as is with ANY drug, responsibility is the key. Just don't take 30 mg of xanax just because the overdose level is 380 mg/kg.

And not getting sick on benzos is a good thing, many many people have died from alcohol overdose, from choking on their vomit mainly (that I know of), though you may do extremely stupid shit when you OD on benzos, at least you didnt die eh;)?

Still 100,000 americans die each year becuase of it.

I've had 4 different time on alcohol where the nausea was so intense that I coudln't even move without puking all over myself, which truly sucked.

    socially acceptable

with alchohol you can tell you're sloppy acting and compensate to keep your cool

benzos you think you're acting normal and cool, but to everybody else you are like "that guy" who is way too fucked up

I can see how addiction to them would be easy, since they seem like they'd be so much fun. I will definitely need to set a limit to no more than twice a week.

    For me -

with alcohol, there is the satisfaction of being drunk and wasted, the satisfaction of accomplishing what you set out to do.

with benzos, there is nothing but a static emptiness that sucks ass and is not fun

Alcohol and benzos are both double-edged swords. That being said, I prefer benzos to alcohol, but I'm drinking alcohol right now. lol Go figure:tongue:

I would compare many aspects of alcohol and benzos. I've always referred to xanax as "liquor, in pill-form". lol

At the same time, there are lots of differences. With xanax, you can never comprehend exactly how fukt up you are, where as, with alcohol, you can tell that you're shitfaced.

Also, I think benzos/xanax are safer for the body than alcohol, but the withdrawals from benzos are just as dangerous, if not more dangerous than the alcohol withdrawals. Benzo and alcohol withdrawals can actually KILL you, which makes benzo and alcohol withdrawals worse than opiate/heroin withdrawals. Maybe not more painful or agonizing, but more dangerous and potentially deadly.

Yeah most likely if you were to go cold turkey from 5 mg a day, then there would be serious issues. Just be responsible and set a limit for the frequency you use them.

I remember reading something that said that benzos do NO damage to the liver at all, compared to alcohol...

Probably one of the reasons why it seems people have done alot more stupid shit on benzos is because with benzos you CAN take alot without getting severely sick like you would with alcohol. But like I said in another thread, don't go take 30 mg of xanax just because the lethal dose is 380 mg/kg;)

That's all true. You can take massive amounts of xanax/benzos without causing much, if any, harm to the body.

For example, I took 148mg of xanax within a few hours, one day, and I survived. It shocked the hell out of me when I woke up the next day to find out I ate 74 bars. lol
