split dreads

just wondering what to do with one or two of the sections of my hair. i have one where it feels like it should/could be two different dreads instead of just one, so like near the root it's def split in two, and as i feel it higher up the two parts start to twist around each other and then eventually toward the tip feel like just one. so i'm tempted to break it apart, but i'd eventually end up congoing them together anyway because i'd rather have thick dreads.

so, idk. should i split it up, or just leave it?

I have some like that. It seems that eventually (and it really doesn't take THAT long) they make friends with each other - or even fall in love and get married : )

 

when my dreads were just a couple of days backcombed, there was one that wasn't sitting right. I took a pair of scissors and cut it down the middle. no probs since

 

I had some like that- that where once two but kept sticking together-

that I've wrapped up together to help them congo-

and some others that tried but I ripped apart because they were uncomfortable
(" no, top front of my head you cannot mate with another from bottom !").
Also.. keep in mind your dreads will prolly get thicker as they mature

 

actually, there's another set of 2 or 3 that's kinda fucked up that i'm legitimately a bit worried about. the rest of them are starting to tighten up, at least a bit, but these 3 are just weird. they're like permanently latched to each other, so what i think it is is that a few strands of each one are in the wrong "dread", so they're all linked together. they feel almost like a big, fluffy ball of hair near the root, instead of an actual section like the rest.

not sure what the deal is with these. i would take a pic, but i don't think it'd show very well what i'm talking about.

edit: forgot to mention. another thing about them is at least one of them feels like it's a fucking massive section.

 

ive got one of those. it opened up, then closed again and its one dread again. it's big enough to put my hand through.
