yea that's why i posted it in the psychedelics forum, but she is unlike anyone else ever studied. her brain is "hardwired" differently with more direct connections that are almost dormant in most humans. seeing colors with words, she can remember things a lot better... did ya at least watch part of the video?
I heard an NPR story talking about synesthesia and it was the first time that I'd heard about it outside of psychedelics. I'm not sure if this is it, but it's interesting that her main interests both have connections to psychedelics. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4543329 Very intriguing phenomenon!
Yeah, the story that I was listening to on NPR stated several artists and a writer or two that claimed to have it. I'm very intrigued by the fact that some people experience it temporarily on psychedelics while one would assume that it was a physiological anomaly in people that experience it constantly.
Can you describe how it manifests in you? Does it happen all of the time? When did it start? Ever experienced it with or had it manipulated by psychedelics?
Whenever I listen to music or hear a sound I won't actually see the color but I will sense it. Each instrument in a song will have a different color. The thing about synaesthesia is every time I listen to a song I "feel" the same colors. I think I've always had it but I've never really noticed it until I was listening to the radio and telling my mom what color each song was. I can't really answer the psychedelic part because the only drugs I've experimented with are pot and a low dose of Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, but I should be getting some more HBW seeds this weak so I should be able to tell you then.
