Cool thread. I remember that when I was growing up my mum used to paint her nails every night. Or every second night. Or every third. Yep, I must admit to being slightly pro - smell and nail polish remover I think is great. You can use it for heaps of cool things. Back on to the topic of the thread; obviously I can't relate directly but I can understand. nails obviously became something that was noticed back when you started painting them. It's probably like cutting them. You just notice the length.
absolutely not. but this thread does remind me of the time i was an idiot and spray painted my face, and then removed all the paint with nail polish remover. ahh, good times...
I like white nail polish too Jess, used to wear it ALL the time. It looks good with a tan. I like neutral colors/nudes usually but I have this dark metallic blue that is amazing for z toes.
white, french tips and red looks good with a tan. I never liked red but now im diggin it. I have purple now. not sure why
I paint my toenails all of the time during the warmer months when I tend to be barefoot. I don't paint my fingernails all that often because the paint tends to chip within hours of me putting it on because I'm always doing something with my hands, so it's hard to find a polish that stays put on me for long. Sooo, I tend to leave fingernail painting for special occassions mostly. My 6 year old daughter LOVES having her nails painted. In fact, she bought two new shades of polish over the weekend with her own money, she was sooo excited. She wants me to paint patterns on her nails today with the two colors.
My toenails are always pink, lol. There's a pic in one of my albums, my toenails always look like that, lol. I can't paint my fingernails because I'm a cook and chipped polish in food is disgusting. For awhile, though I was just painting over old polish and had so many fucking layers that I put a hole in my big toenail trying to remove it all. So I let most of it chip off before I paint them again now...that was a really scary and weird feeling.
My toenails are always red and I paint my fingernails when they get long. If I'm drawing quite a bit I will paint them black to hide the charcoal stains otherwise I paint them to match my mood.
You can buy some bad tasting icky stuff to put on your nails. Goes right on you fingernails, just like nail polish. I tried using it when I was younger, but then I got used to the icky taste and kept biting my fingernails anyway. I'm pretty sure you can buy it at chemists. I'm guessing you're just worried about biting your fingernails and not your toenails too, right?
I always remove all the polish, trim, file, sometime thoroughly buff so they shine. And then paint clear, two layers of color, and clear again. so it's a fiasco but they look nice.
Haha my sister used to have to use that stuff and a friend of mine in primary school. I used it to even though I didn't have a problem biting my fingernails. I used to bite my toe nails a lot. Lucky I was a clean kid.
