I have been reading up on it for over a year now and decided to go ahead and get some. I've checked some of the online sources and decided it would be better to get live cacti rather than cuttings. So today I was out getting glass to replace a broken window and after that was going to hit the Home Depot for other supplies, but something in my head told me to go to Lowe's instead. I went in and looked for the stuff I needed and decided to see what cacti they had. As I was looking at the different ones I figured there was nothing worth getting here and wandered around to some other area and turned around and noticed the very top of a cacti that could be San Pedro buried at the back of the cacti table. I didn't see it when I was right in front of the table! I checked it out and it sure was T. Panachoi !! Two of them potted together and growing strong! I snatched them up for $25. One is 18" tall, the other is 23" tall and both are about 3"-4" diameter! I guess Mescalito decided it was time to introduce himself to me. Gonna let them grow for about another week and then take cuttings and make some tea. I assume the remaining cactus will grow new pups, right? Or should I take a top cutting and root it and prepare the bulk of the middle section?
Cut up the cactus and put it into a blender. Take that mush and boil it slowly until you have lost all the water from the mix. Make sure you don't let anything stick to the bottom of your pan and stir . After all the water is gone you should be left with a paste, that is what you want. It could take a few hours to get rid of it all. I have always used a very low temp so as to not destroy the chemical, but some people say the temp does not matter. Have something to wash it down because it will not taste good. Give it an hour and a half and see what happens. The high will sneak up on you I have never tried the tea method, but useing the above formula I had a nice trip. When you grow them water them very little and keep them in a narrow pot so the roots grow down. In the wild it’s roots would grow very shallow but stretch out very wide. The mescaline is actually a byproduct of stress in the plant, the less ideal it’s growing conditions the more Mesc.
23" is hardly a baby. its a two-year old. more like a toddler. and besides if you just chop the top of it off new pups will sprout from the stump. when the pups get big enough you can harvest em. a stump will keep putting out pups for years and keep regenerating. this wonderful plant really is a survivor.
Jeez your tempting me to start growing cacti... Mescaline has always made me very curious, this is a very well respected drug, which when used properly is said to have a profoundly changing experience. Like all things, it will come to me when I'm ready for it.
Not chop-up, take a cutting so the cactus continues to live and grow. That is why I specifically got GROWING cacti and not cuttings. I've seen elsewhere in these forums that you have consumed Morning Glory seeds. Grinding up helpless flower embryos is just morally reprehensible! You didn't even give them a chance at life!!
so how much are you going to take? I was operating under the assumption that you were planning on harvesting a whole one, but I guess youre gonna take some from each? and MGs are different, theyre basically a weed.
: Yeah I was just givin' ya shit I harvested about 16"-18" off of the bigger one, so left about 7" to continue to grow for another time After that I'm most likely going to let them grow till next spring. I only "clean out the pipes" every couple a few years nowadays.
I can't believe you found some at Lowes, I'm going to have to start checking out local places that may have some. I order mine from a place up in Flagstaff, but for some reason it it shipped out of Kansas? Otherwise that shit would be down here in a day since I live in Phoenix which is two hours south. Make sure you know what dosage to take. But I'm sure you know about this since you said you have been researching it for a while .
San Pedro is definitely one of the greatest natural drugs on earth (if not the greatest), enjoy your experience however you decide to consume it. I have six cacti growing myself and can't wait to harvest my first dose at the end of the summer.
