Yes, we have a land line, and I use it all of the time. I don't have a cell phone, well, I used to have one but then I had it turned off because I kept forgetting I even had the stupid thing, never kept it on so it kind of defeated the purpose of having it! Husband has a work cell that I use if need be. My mom and sister have cell phones only, no land lines. But most people I know have both.
we have one, but the only people who call it are looking for money or to so surveys or sell us shit so we never answer it anyways.
I have a land line through the internet. I got a cell recently but I rarely use up the minimum minutes. That is because you live in Bumfuck, Ontario. :cheers2:
No, that's for cavemen. I haven't had a landline in a decade. I don't like always being reachable, so my phones on silent most times. I call back the people I like.
yes and no..... i do in my ma's house.. im live there for half the day and i live in my boyfriends the other half of the day, and we dont have one there dont need one
I use my landline. Mobiles are for emergencies only. I don't want to be contacted if out of the house. My own time is to precious to be interrupted.
i have both..the landline came with unlimited 24/7 north american service...i do not dial 1 for lomg distance any more....and...bonus...no one can call collect....i use it constantly to answer the bevy of teenage girls that call my son...the kids 13 and already has a stalker....my cell is an o0ld crappy thing that costs a dollar a day and i have lent it to a friend whos phone was cut off......i hate losin, forgetting, charging etc with the cell...it makes me unhappy when i know i am going to rely on it for a trip opr something.......note for doppel...you do see the irony of a 16 year old referencing the 90's right?.....note for zilla>
we are thinking about getting a house phone. my first cell phone in bout 5 years came in the mail yesterday. the best thing about? the guvment pays for the minutes!!! take that bitches. or you could actually qualify for one yourself.
i called to register for a landline when i got my first apartment. they told me it would be $50 a month for the cheapest service they offer, so i told them to fuck off. now i pay less than that and i can take my phone with me when i leave the apartment. and i rarely hear from telemarketers. fuck a home phone.
i haven't for the past 5 years. as soon as i have a permanent residence in which i plan to reside for more than a year, i will get one. i would like to have only a telephone and an oldschool answering machine, i hate having a cellphone most of the time
a couple weeks ago i went to a museum with my family...in one section they had a small area (living room and kitchen) set up to look like an american household from the late 50's or early 60's using all authentic materials - right down to the ketchup in the fridge and the spices in the spice rack :ack2: there was a typical black rotary phone on a table there, and i saw a guy with his young teenage girls enter that area right as i was leaving...and overheard one of them asking what it was and him trying to explain to her how it worked :banghead::smilielol5: i mean jesus....i guess it makes sense....but when i was a kid my folks still had a rotary phone at home, and in their offices, and at my elementary school thats what they used..... i guess it makes me feel a little bit old lol....but jesus....i'm surprised a kid would not be able to at least figure out how something so simple works. they can play video games, take pictures, or write emails on their cellphones but they can't figure out how a dial works? we're going extinct in another two generations, i think.
i do as well. i really do not like cell phones. i like people not being able reach me at any time. additionally, i always seem to have trouble hearing what the person on the other in is saying.
