i know what you mean about cutting being an amazing release. the last winter i lived with my parents i fell into the habit of punching holes in the walls in my bedroom. one day i learned my lesson when i hit a stud in the wall. broke my pinky knuckle, but since i lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere and my mother had my health card hiden somewhere i was screwed. they told me to take a tylenol and sent me back to my room. they didn't believe me a month later when the finally let me have my health card so i could go to the dr and he said it was busted for good, to late to do anything about it. I was really pissed when they finally said i should have gone sooner and they would have given me my health card if i had asked for it (like i never asked for it!!!)

so then i figured cutting was a better alternative, you get the same release and it can heal all by it'self, they couldn't stop it from healing, so i used an exacto knife and started on my forearm. they weren't deep at all so now there are just little scars that are barely visible.

you need to find out exactly what the problem is that is causing you your frustration and do whatever you have to do to fix it. for me the problem was my parents and so i moved out. find someone to talk to like a teacher, or the kids help line is awsome, they helped me out like crazy.

yeah the kids help line is free, they are the ones that advertise on cereal boxes. here is the number for them 1800-668-6868. and the website http://kidshelp.sympatico.ca/en/ i don't know if they are only canada. but even if they are they should be able to provide you with resources in your community.

I didn't have anything when i moved out. i packed a duffle bag and took my school books (it was new years day, school was still out from christmas) and went to a friends house to decide what i wanted to do. then a week later i moved into a shelter and spent my time trying to get into group homes, social assistance etc..... i finally just moved in with my bf cuz there were no other options for me, and only now am i able to move out into my own apartment (it's been 2 years)

if you wanna talk about stuff P.M. me, i'll help you out as much as possible with anything i can.

peacebabe, you should stop now. i have been cutting for years and yes it does on some levels help you cope with what you are feeling. BUT it is such an inadequate way of coping, i wish i had never started. ask yourself why you do it, do you do it to help you cope, or to spite your parents.

The nasty pics aren't a good idea for this kid. Conversation is better than holding it in and cutting. I use to cut and it only makes things worse. You become this person who only holds shit in the unhealthy way....
