Congo Question

hey im intentionally joining or "congo"ing 3 sets of 2 and 1 of 3, i know the base will merge together soon its been like a week and i can tell there getting along nicely but i was wondering if there was any chance of the 8 inches of dreads i have already to join in those groups or will i always have them apart

idc how long it takes i dont care if it takes 3 years just wondering

or maybe i can just comb the 8 inches out and then dread them together worth it??? i plan on having this set for life

 

I havent had dreads for many many years, so Im not the expert. But I advise against joining your dreads. The key is to have them start skinny, and they fatten with age. If you start them too fat, they will pull on your scalp in a few years and become painful.

 

ive had them for 9 months are you saying wait?

 

Over time they will slowly become one complete badass mother fucker dread!

It only really causes pain if you backcomb up a storm at the beginning... or so I would assume

Anyway, I say just let your head be. Dreads congo with time, I'm thinking if you try to move hair somewhere it don't want to be its gonna start to pull etc

 

use beads and wraps to speed up the process, thats what seems to be the suggestion most of the time round here, put a big ass bead around all three and it should help the congo

 

well since no one actually answered your question, let me... it all depends on how mature your dreads are as to if the ends would join or not. At 9 months, I'm thinking they might not. If you really want to congo them, you can comb them out and join them, but its going to be a pain in the ass and you'll loose that progress. I say do whatever feels right to you.

Use a hook to congo them takes less time. I congoed mine just over a year ago with a dreadhead tool thing. Only one dread has separated from another since. Mine haven't fallen out or suffered any damage.

 

me either, they're definitely a conspiracy formed by the government. I think all "photos" are actually highly detailed drawings performed by tiny elves that live off of "film"

i have mixed feelings about cameras youve got the pictures of awesome places that just remind you that your not there....so thats gay
