Anyone here successfully harvested Opium?

SWIM is considering growing some Papaver Somniferum Seeds (opium poppy) in the near future, Just for a small personal stash.
But after searching these forums, have unusually found not much positive feedback. It seems there are hundreds of threads asking "how do I grow opium" and little success stories.

I have a fair idea on how to grow, when to grow, when to harvest etc... But just wanted to ask:
Is there anyone here who has successfully grown and harvested Opium?

And is it worthwhile?

 

I plan on doing this sometime too. If you find out that swim actually did it, could you let ME know so I can grow opium?

I never grew it, but found a massive patch of plants at a small train station on my way to work, all perfectly ready to harvest. Me and a friend returned as it was getting dark and at first had some convoluted plan whereby one of us would stand look-out as the other harvested. This was soon abandoned.

Got about 1.5 Gs of opium out of like 200 pods, that had obviously not been cultivated or tended to in any way, just planted and left to grow in the miserable British weather.

 

I guess it all depends on how much space you have to grow, and if its safe, or at least not to sketchy.

Ive read that each poppy plant usualy has about 3 poppy heads, -How much opium would I expect to get out of 30 pods (10 plants)...???

 

I really wish there was someone to answer this question.

ive been slitting opium pods all this week
all u do is slit the pod in a few places, i do vertical slits, let the opium drizzle out slowly, then go back and scrape it off..
let it sit for at least a day or 2.. and it coagulates then its ready to smoke

and yes, its worthwhile

OK, I am part of a few forums, and I need to know a couple things. If there is a common question faq that would be awesome.

1. On average, how much opium does it take to barely get to a nod? Like slight high. (by weight)
2. How much opium does 1 pod produce? One plant? Ten plants? (by weight)
3. Are there areas of the US that papaver does NOT grow in? What regions?

Also, does anyone know anything about opiates from guatemala? Like easy to get illegal/legal opiates? If not, know where I could find some info? (Mexico is not Guatemala... They have diff laws and culture)

Experienced information is appreciated! Its for a whole group of people.

EDIT: I have read plants usually have 3 pods per. Is this accurate?

1. Depends on your tolerance, no tolerance 250-500 mg of dried raw O would yield about 25-50 mg of morphine plus the other alkaloids so that would probably suffice for a low tolerance. Something about opium and the synergy of it's alkaloids makes it stronger than the equivalent of morphine.

2. One pod could yield anywhere from 20 mg to 100 mg+ of dried O alot of variables involved, plant genetics, breeding for high O production, health and size of plants.

3. I think you could grow just about anywhere, P somni is a very hardy plant.

FYI: If you wanna get loaded a few times then by all means, grow a few plants, don't expect to maintain any kinda habit without growing hundreds of plants. But, other people are growing them for you, perhaps in your very town, you just need to go liberate them from their owners! Not recommended as the last thing people think when you're skulking around on their propery in the dead of night is that you are after their plants.............
