do people with higher iq's have less or no children?!

Cuz they know their limits. And they know to use protection if you want to avoid children.

 

I think people with careers have less time for children, but my mom managed to raise 4 kids and have a career...and she's a smart cookie.

well i don't think it depends whether someone is smart or not, i think it depends on what they personaly think about children, like if they would rather put there career first or they want to raise a family and work or even go out of work to raise there children, my mother is the most smartest person i know yet she went out of work to raise m and my brother and only joined college and uni when she was in her late 30's (adlult college, england has a different education system then usa)

 

I wouldn't really have guessed the two have anything to do with each other. But peh, what do I know, I'm of "slightly above average" intelligence. And you know...I can't change that...I've tried (lol), but Daniel has a high IQ and he wants kids one day. But I think people who have litters of kids are kah-razy. I want one to three! No more than that. One will be hard enough as it is!

My X's IQ is around 160. He doesn't want children for fear of passing on autism.

I don't want them for a number of reasons, finances being high on that list. However, I have no idea what my IQ is.

 

I dunno, 2% isn't really high enough to justify that.

 

I want 4-5 babies and somewhat of a career.

I'd also like a career, but I don't even know what I actually wanna be when I grow up

 

I just want to be able to support any children I have, and raise them well

i think it's possible that there may be fewer people with high iq's that have kids. if so, it would probably be ingrained in the general human psyche, with only some exceptions.

in general, intelligence itself is not evolutionarily advantageous until a species reaches a certain point, and even then it has it's downfalls.

cleverness and resourcefulness are valued above actual intelligence, and with good reason - they help you survive. intelligence does not necessarily do so.

I don't buy into the higher IQ, less children deal. I know of plenty of families in my town that are very well off with what I'm sure are high IQ's (doctors, lawyers) that have 3,4, even 5 kids.

Exceptions to every rule as in everything.
