(Katakuri-ke no kôfuku) Another asian movie, Japanese this time. This is Miike Takashi's movie about a quite ordinary family that tries to run an inn/hotel in a quiet part of Japan. They have trouble getting guests.. so they are extremely happy to see some arrive. However, each guest they have, seems to die in the most of bizar ways. In order not to have bad press, they have to come up with a solution. It's a musical, there's some horror, some nudity and a lot of Japanese strangeness really. The movie can be seen as a bit slow, but it's worth seeing it, just because.. well.. it's so damn weird! IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304262/
I remember you telling me about this movie a few days ago. I've got it on my list, but haven't been able to track it down yet. It's a hard one to find.
Hello Velvet: Long time no see. I remember we have chatted on msn .I'm Fla/Flamingo Im glad to know there is such an interesting (black humor?) japanese movie. "Katakurike no Koufuku" And the director, Miike (not Mike) Takashi and the actors & atresses are all famous in japan. The strange Japanese American musician Richâdo Sagawa, He is the famous musician also in real in japan, he is Imawano Kyoushirou who passed away recently by cancer....He is still loved by all fans... and Masao Katakuri (Sawada Kenji) is still famous here and he used to be a member of "Group Sounds: The Tigers" which was very popular in 1960 in japan. Dont u think Shizue Katakuri (Naomi Nishida) is beautiful, do ya? Please show us any other funny/good movies in here. Thanks
