And im still in 8th grade and some 9th grade classes. Just got report card in, failed everything this year too. Summer school is 380$ for 3 weeks. I dont have money to pay for this, and I'm scared i wont make it in life.
The thing is, I was born in canada and moved to california when i was starting elemantery school. So I did my whole elemantery school and moved back when their was 3 months left of 6th grade. So I never learned how to read or write in french, and sometimes I cant even say something to people because i dont know how... The worst thing is they let me pass the 6th grade, and then they let me pass 7th grade even though i failled all the report cards. So This year im in a class with drug addicts and fucked up people and we have a pregnant teacher who leaves after half the school year and we have different subtitutes every class who know nothing. The weed helped during school, I really got more into some stuff, but really, the only class i tried to come in sober was Math.. But man, English is so much easier than fucked up french language with all the gay accents.
from your short little description up there, it seems like you are making a lot of excuses (not saying i wouldn't in your situation). maybe work on addressing the REAL issue and tackling that - do you have a learning disability? are you in need of counseling or some psychological help? get your parents active in helping you get active - you want to do good, but obviously you are going to need some help, and there really isn't anything wrong with that
Im pretty sure that at 16 you can at least start an apprenticeship in a trade,That might be something worth looking into...or maybe your school system has co-op type plans(credits for working ).Some real idiots that I went to school with ended up quitting highschool and doing co-ops at the local GM dealership...now they all have families and big houses with new trucks.(yes..I am jealous)I would suggest trying Toyota or Honda for better job security...or even plumbing and heating, theres good money in trades.
I think excuses can be an important defense mechanism to keep us from getting too down on ourselves and losing hope. And I have a lot of excuses going for me, early childhood in a poor environment, generalized anxiety disorder, undiagnosed dyspraxia, and never really learning self-motivation, or ever getting a good view of hard work paying off and seeing too many good lives sparked off by luck. That being said, I've learned to fight on despite my excuses - learn to overcome them, and I've always been fond of the underdog (and find most in the Americas are), so that way I'm like a hero to myself =D OP, find what you really want and fight for it. You can pass if you really want to and are ready to do the work, and the studying; despite the excuses. Or, if you would rather, you can work for a good life without an education - but in this world, you'd almost have to look on Dirty Jobs to find an example of that - it's a hard life for most of us - you just have to pick your battles.
Sounds like a big part of the problem is learning the French language. This is no easy task but focusing on that may make things easier in everything else. Also you've got to get rid of that "French is gay" attitude. It's only hurting you, dude. Prejudice and negative labeling of things that are different from you are some of the greatest stumbling blocks for developing your true potential in life. It's so easy to get stuck in that kind of thinking and it will dog you all your life if you don't drop it now while you're young. Good luck man.
For that, he needs to learn to operate the back-hoe. Not a bad idea, though. Equipment operators earn a lot. Learning the controls of heavy equipment, like back-hoes, loaders, and cranes and such is really quite fun, but you have to have a steady hand. Mistakes can be some serious business. I used to do some crane operation when I worked in street light maintenance for the highway department. It's like a grown-up form of playing video games, with an added real-life intensity.
You’re right it would require a license to operate heavy equipment which requires at least some mental acuity or aptitude Well maybe he could wash dishes Hotwater
