I like them..I'd wear them to go out, no lie. But I also have some fake hair weave pigtails i wore with straight hair - and I am admittedly not above some crazy kitschy shit
Well, I dont like them...But I dont like anything that is...extreme looking. Im rather conservative when it comes to stuff like that, (sounds weird, but true) Crazy colors and fashions just arent my thing....anywhere I go Im in a plain solid colored tee shirt and jeans..plain and simple. That is how I like it. *referring to synthetic dreads
I have a 'crazy' personality, if you will....Youd honestly think that Id be the type to look crazy, or act crazy. Im super reserved around people though, dont want to frighten them =] somehow, I do anyway....... One of these days Im going to get all sorts of dressed up and crazy....and just go and have a good time and not worry about what I am wearing. That will be my cure =]
I went as a box for the last three years for Halloween. I was never much into it, but my friends always want me to go with them. Im not a very social one, so these people try and steal me away from my computer every chance they get! Anyway, They spend alot of money and time on their outfits, and I just love stealing all the attention away from their overrated and un-unique costumes. Im a whore like that. People love my costume...Im the super box. It is the stupidest thing in the world, but people seem to love it. We went to this one party last year, and I got more attention than my best friend in a skimpy school girl outfit by being the super box. Complete with a brown paper cape. (well, alright, ONE night of the year I get out and go somewhere, I deserve attention!) What a pointless story. OK!
i skipped over 1/2 the advice ppl gave (srry everyone) and im assumming ill be repeatting alotta common knowledge (common to us maybe but the vast magority of ppl claiminmg to know how to do dreads do thiungs all wrong) point 1 backcombing is not necasary at all, its not a part of the dread proccess and is more a psychgological crutch to make u believe u accomplished something point 2 bands are unesacary as well and potentialy cause severe trouble (but 2 weeks of backcombing alreadyt caused severe dammage) most recomend thewy not stay in longer then a couple days..but..they dont need to be there ever for anyt reason point 3 wax..get every trace possible out now while the hairs loose and easier to remove..once the dreads are tight wax removeaval is much harder even if u undo revery bit of progress in the process its ok your better off getting a fresh start withopuit wax and prefferably without additional dammage from backcombing point 4 roots dont need tightening ..leave them alone entirely..they take cxare of themselves point 5 palm rolling..waste of time and if overdone can add to the already severe dammage from excessive backcombing..possibly leading to dread loss..you started with many mistakes, now you have to be as gentle and natural as can be so you dont compound the dammagfe done point 6 frizz..aloe..hats (tired of counting points so lumping all the rest into 1) frizz just leave alone u notice it 100 times more then anyone elkse and frizz needs no controlling it takes catre of itself over tim,e aloe can slow even reverse the dreading if over used like wax its conditioning so shyould onl;y be uised for formal ocassions or when deep conditioning is needed hats u can wear in any weather and tucking your dreads up in a tamn in heat cools u alot by keeping the dreads off yopur shouldees neck and back in general the more u do to your dreads the more u risk fucking em up but when u do the bare minimum they turn out amazing all on theyre own
I understand all of this, but if you what you didnt read, was the part that i have a Job. I have to keep frizz down, and have kind of neat looking hair or the dreads will have to be comb out and that will be sad. I love my job, not to many people can sit there and say that. I work with dogs, i assit manager. Yes i can have dreads, but i need to keep bands in as long as possible and also the frizz has to stay down or at least semi down. I started my dreads out backcombing yes, and for two weeks yes, but i have seem many lovely locks started out this way, so im not to worried anymore. but thank you for the advice, I was worried about hats in the summer, but i will be buying one ASAP that is work appropriate, then i can let my baby dreads go wild. thanks again
I think they can definitely have their place, as long as you keep an eye on them and not let them melt, no harm done.
