    Hello everyone,
I want to know how do you do to improve your writing?
To have better vocabulary and techniques.
    Do you read books?
    Do you have any tips?
    Thank you.

Yes, read books. Read books, articles, poems, song lyrics, bumper stickers. Read! And consider, analyze, criticize, etc.

    Read read read

That will work on the vocabulary, especially if the authors and genres are varied. Be sure to include some classics if improving your vocabulary is a desire.

As for techniques, I would say write and reread. however, put some time in between the rereadings and try to reread while in different moods and at different times of the day. Things that sound good in one frame of mind may not sound good in another. Then write what techniques/habits sound bad in a notebook. Correct the writing afterward.

Also, immediately reread writings and compare themn to the notebook. That way you can find and remove any bad habits of writing that may sound bad.

Then start having others read your writing.

Once you can write prose that will read fluidly to most people you will have come a long way in writing.

Just a couple of thoughts here.

    Reading is fine-- and nessacary.

But get out an experience life. It will help you add depth to your characters (even if the only character is you , the author, such as in most poems.)
A great story requires great characters.
Beside, the best stories have a germ of experience at the core. Could you write sincerly of being in love if you'd never experienced it?

Immerse yourself in reading, but most of all, immerse yourself in thinking and feeling. My best songs and ideas come from the times I'm lost in my own head, or I'm overcome with emotions. I can seldom write well in social situations or when I'm around lots of people. Time to think is very important for any person that writes.
That being said, I think that ideas will come to any person in time. Don't force anything, because forced thoughts or uninspired writing doesn't sound half as good as the ideas that come in random moments.
