Kay so I'm fed up of drinking cardboard soy, expensive oat milk, and rice milk. I might be being a little picky but I'm just asking :D

And are there aNY good vegan cheeses? Cheezelys is shockingly vomit like. Anyone got any others they actually like?

My grocer now carries a store-brand almond milk that's cheaper than soy, and not nearly as thick. I prefer it over other milk alternatives because it's not ookey-thick OR super-sweet. It's only got 2 carbs per cup too... so I've been using it in baking recipes.

My husband ran across a vegan cheese one day that was really really good. It was in a purple wrapper, and was mozzerella flavor. Unfortunately I don't remember the name, and my LHFS hasn't carried it since. I've been begging though - it smelled like cheese, tasted like cheese and MELTED like cheese!

    Good luck!

    Almond milk at home:
    1 part almonds, blanched
    1 part water
    blend like crazy, strain.

Yeh - tried the homemade almond milk... apparently my blender doesn't make it fine enough, because I made almond-mush. For some reason I can actually get ready-made almond milk cheaper than I can make it - weird, huh? I'm guessing it's the shipping since they're not native this far north, but MOST nuts are painfully expensive here.

Ohhh nice one, both of you!! Doesn't the almond milk taste of almonds? I'm not too keen on nuts (GOD I'M SO FREAKIN PICKY curse myself xD) But I could get used to it if its better than soya :D So is it really that easy? Just stick some water in with some noots and whiizzzles?

    I'm sooooo trying that :D

And that must be so fustrating hsmama, fry your husband for the name!!

    Thanks so much

Hemp milk is delicious imo. If you get the Living Harvest brand you can get chocolate, regular, or vanilla flavor (my favorite). In the US they are around $4 each. They have all of the essential amino acids, omega 3 & 6, good source or protein, etc. http://www.worldpantry.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce/ExecMacro/livingharvest/home.d2w/report

If the price is too steep for you, try to order it wholesale on some site and say you are a distributor (this is what a friend recommended anyways).

I was never a fan of cheese even before I was vegan. So can't help you there.

Hemp milk sounds great... I tried hemp oil once before and that stuff is delicious... so some Hemp liquid sounds like it would be good... they don't sell it at my supermarkets though =(
