Well due to genetic variability, in all species, there are subtle changes which makes every individual different. Due to evolution, over time the favorable traits are passed on to future generations. The human race is not evolving at the moment (or is it?) as there are no selecting pressures on us. The conditions are so good right now enabling everyone to reproduce. Also, due to this variability between individuals, in any aspect - is why some people we think of as "weird", in the way they act or the things they do. But maybe this is just because they are a bit less like the current human species than most people.
are we talking about just biological differences or psychological also? our idea of what "most people" are like is based on the people we see, talk to or listen to, and the image of people in the media. think about it. not the best tools to determine what "normal" or "average" or "typical" is.
i'd say all differences. and you're right, "most people" is really hard to determine "normal" etc., but it's just hard to put down exactly what I was thinking, but i think you sort of get what i'm saying?
i definitely see what you're talking about, but i don't really think there is a normal/average/typical.
yea thats because everyone is different right. but the amount that people are different from other people in different aspects, biological, psychological etc. varies. and some people may be more similar in particular ways, and you might see like a normal distribution of differences in gene's and alleles etc. and on the furthest points of most difference (most unlikely by chance), may be people who think along different lines or physical mutations, rare genetic diseases etc. compared to a majority of people. ^sorry if that didnt make any sense but im struggling to put into words whats in my head.
Nope. Natural selection (for humans) is no longer applicable. Women no longer only mate with the strongest/smartest/healthiest/dominant male. If anything we are breeding ourselves into oblivion
I think it's nigh impossible not to "evolve," however most scientist do agree that homo sapiens are not really mutating much anymore, that is correct. Also "weird" is dictated more by societal norms than it is by the human species as a whole. Genetically humans are extremely similar to eachother, in regards to the human genome that is. And typically....from experience...not scientific "data" here, I feel most people are VERY similar...they just represent those similarities with different things, but at the base their motivations or "reasons" are very identical.
