I'm pretty sure they're just like...little kids, lol. I don't want to think of them as anything else.
Sponges and starfish don't reproduce like people, though. I imagine their sex would be way different.
My theory on the whole show is that they are mentally handicapped adults. Spongebob has a job... and I'm sure (since it's obvious) Patrick is a little worse off, he doesn't work because he collects a check... if you know what I mean... I don't allow my kids to watch that garbage when I realized how much of a non child appropriate show is really is... most child shows are not child friendly... it's sad actually.
So why do you not think it's child appropriate? I'm just curious, I haven't seen anything on there that seems like anything I'd really shelter my kids from. Granted, I don't have kids, so...I don't know, lol.
IMO, it teaches children to act very unintelligent... and suggests flipping burgers for a job is a good thing... Example: Squidward: Would you not stand so close. I'm getting claustrophobic. Patrick: What does claustrophobic mean? Spongebob: It means he's afraid of Santa Claus! Squidward: No it doesnt! Patrick: HO HO HO! Spongebob: Stop it Patrick youre scaring him! Patrick: HO HO HO!
censorship is NOT "child friendly". diversity is reality and raising children to not realize that or pretend otherwise is a big part of what keeps perpetuating the fuckedupness of most of what is. as for what cartoon charicters do off screen, i mean, hello, they don't even EXIST off screen, other then in their creator's minds. now as for watching teleivision, i don't because 99% of what its about is totally boring to me. not because i consider it an 'evil influence'. what 'evil influence' there is in it is thanks to capitolism anyway. so no, i don't encourage others to do so, because it dulls the imagination. but i don't mean to martyr it nor create a motivation of forbidden fruit for becoming obsessed with it either. the large percentage of what's on being crap is do entirely to what motivates the choosing of what is put on it, and that has almost everything to do with selling post toasties, and damd near nothing to do with art, nor for that matter, any kind of system of belief. i think its good for a quick grin, the idea that a couple of cartoon charicters might have some sort of non-hetero personal relationship. but all that is, all it can ever be, is what we might choose to read into it in our own, far less then 'pure', minds.
Keep in mind, the age group I am referring to is 0-5 years.. until children reach about five or six the mind isn't developed enough to determine fact from fiction...
