Why? Why not? I am or I'm not. Not at the same time, but it fluctuates, and for no good reason at all. What about you?
i'm skeptical when it comes to inconsistent people.... otherwise no, im a pretty firm believer in what i believe in
i don't know really. i've been that way to some extent for as long as i can remember, but for the last few years in particular i just find it impossible to completely believe anything unless i am staring at the proof right at that moment.
Of some things, sure. I am skeptical mainly as a cautionary measure. I rarely doubt people's word, though (unless they're trying to sell me something.)
the real universe makes questioning everything a moral responsibility. if you don't it will bit you on the ass. that's just life. and we have no one to blame but ourselves if we fail to do so. that doesn't mean we have to look at everything as being the worst in can possibly be either, nor have to go around expecting it to be. just to recognize that the worst and the best are always both real possibilities, both equally likely, and equally less likely then tepid oatmeal somewhere inbetween.
Well putting aside my belief in UFO’s, Crop Circles, Ghosts, Poltergeists’, Atlantis, Human Giants, Ouija Boards, Psychics, The Flat Earth, Witchcraft, Bigfoot, Lost Worlds, The Mayan End of days phenomena, The Face on Mars, Reincarnation, Divination through sunspots, the Loch Ness monster, The Nazca Lines, The Bermuda Triangle, Hollow Earth, Cattle Mutilations, Remote Viewing, The Dropa Stones, The Money Pit, Ancient Aircraft, The Crystal Skull, The 100th monkey phenomena, Underground Bases, The Champlain Monster, The Inscribed Wall at Chatata, The Marfa Lights, Levitation, Near Death Experiences, The stone spheres of Costa Rica, the teachings of Zecharia Sitchin, Planet X, Polar Shift, Ball lightning, Coral Castle, Tunguska was a crashed UFO, The Bridgewater Triangle, Rods, The Mothman, the Chupacabra, The Philadelphia Experiment, The Taos Hum, The beliefs of Erich Von Daniken, The Lubbock lights, The Wild child, Alien Abductions, and Real Vampires (just to name a few) I’m as skeptical as the next guy Hotwater
The word has largely been taken over by the scientific/medical community. I like to think I am skeptical, but skeptical of skepticism.
skeptical = withholding judgement. Neither pessimistic nor optimistic. That's the erudite definition *bows* :coolgleamA:
I was thinking the same thing. I am a pretty skeptical person on a lot of topics. I am the agnostic in a family full of pagan "psychics" ,Catholics, southern baptists and atheists.I doubt and question a lot of shit... but I also believe in a few things here and there, sometimes in people that I maybe shouldn't.:cheers2: ..though I am pretty cynical ,too
Skepticism is still the language of the mind so we must ask ourselves "what does our heart or gut tell us" Hotwater
i would be such a liar if i say i lied but in a matter of fact i always take most of the tings with no second thoughts on my mind, i just accept them and maybe after sometime some tiny mini mini sceptical issues come into my wooden head. but this is just becuase my infallible sense of danger alarms me and maybe, just maybe i am not really getting the meaning of this
