Yeh the diversity of people was the first thing I noticed about those pics. I expected it to just be a bunch of hippies

 

well ya know what..noones gonna beg ya to go..you can go around beatting up people acting out your anger being miserable and pushing people away all your life if thats what makes ya happy (or what you call happy anyways)
im just confused as to why ya had to bring all this negativity into this thread if ya have no interest in it at all?
for many its a very profound lifechanging experience and is home to some of the best people on the plannet
but if violence is somethiong your proud of for some twisted reason then we dont really want you to be a part of it.. and you will find most people dont want violence to be a part of this world
so, by choosing to live by violence you choose to be part of the problem instread of the solution..

hell theres a movie comming out called we love you, the guy that filmed it is a rainbow that was nominated for 2 oscars for other films he did
we love yoiu he thinks can get an oscar too, but he chose not to ubmit it or make a cent off it instead hes giving it away free

at a one gathering i was hanging out with ram dass aka former harvard proffessor richard alpert
we also have the worlds most saught after herbology teacher
as well as the best disaster relief project ever
after katrina, we hade 4 kitchens set up with net access clothing distribution and medical as well as entertainment just days after and a week before fema or the red cross or any other orgs were there..
and we stayed 3 years and rebuilt the town

since then they have been doing disasrer relief work all over..and theres everybodies kitchen that has been doing much the same as well as feeding in underpriveledge d areas for ..hmm almost 20 years.. hell they showed up in my neighbourhood and turnbed the worse cracjk corner in the city into 1 of the most amazinmg peaceful plsaces u ever been to..for 8 years it remained one of the most peacefill places..u used to get 10 year olds pulling guns on youthere, now you can camp there even leave hundreds of dollars inh plain sight and noone wopuld dare mess with yopu..
but back on track..
we have the only government that works equaly welkl in every country in the world
wether its communist china or turkey or tibet or russia or you name it..our form of direct democrocty, self government has worked in every coulture spanning all borders

hell even the millionairs we got are some of the most generouse caring ppl u ever met..in fact last year 1 offered to buy me and chevy not 1...but 8 houses..i thiunk hes still pl;anning on it but both him and his gf have been in very poor health (termanily ill both) especialy her and we kinda lost contact awhile while he was caring for her..

i cant even remember how many times i was offered land free...even over 2000 acres inhj equador

the diversity there is far more thgen most plces cause you can run into ppl of extremes that you dont come across in mainstream society often
and we do invite everyone so ppl from every possible background come

hell in norway they have em mid winter above the artic circle so u gotta be kinda hard core to camp in that kindsa thuing
sorta unrelated to the subjhect but im rambling alot anyway so here goes..many indiginouse nations worldwide have prophesies about the new tribe of rainbow warriors that reuinite all peoples and bring peace. many have recognized us as a legit nation..even thye mormons recognize us as the lost tribe
governors of every state that camne out to visit had nothing but good things to say..and although some leos harrass us. most cops and judges side with us
in fact judges usualy throw out all caases and have even warned the cops to back off on harrassment

and...absolutely no group in the world matches our environmental record.. aftrer a city of 50,000 live in the woods for 3 monbths you wont find the tiniest sign we were ever there after we have gione..in an area as big as 20 square miles u wont find a peive of trash larger then a grain of sand

 

kinda sucks but.. when your that far out in the woods often the only place to get supplies within a couple hundred miles maybe a walmart

and alotta ppl are comming to theyre 1st gatherings everytime, so even though kid villige has a diaper wash, not all new moms know that and figure disposables are easiestr in the woods

but we do have a top knotch recycling setup and nothing at all is ever left behgind..we also take all trash and recycling nhundreds of miles away to not over stress local
recycling..instread we sprewad it out over a very wide area so each town only has to handle a very small fraction of the recycling

we also oin average put so much into the local econo9my that they make more in 3 months then they do in 3 years with absolutely no increase in theft
in fact before the gathering we ask local shops to keep track of any theft and we will reinburse them, but we never have had to

we police ourselves too by shante sena..in fact, some cities with large rainbow populations in some areas your better off yelling shante sene then help police if your being mugged or antything (seen this in colorado springs andf portland oregon)

after thge west virginia gathering, the mayor of the nearest town inviteds all rainbows to move there and make it a rainbow town..many did and when that mayor left town to be mayor of a bigger town, the town elected a rainbow mayor

in my old hood..every cop there everytime i see them they stop me and ask me when everybodies kitchen will come back because the rainbow pressence there changed the area so much in such a possitive way..
in fact the luitenatnt would cook with them and bring veggies from his garden. and, a while thwey were having a massive effort city wide to shgut down 300 open air drug markets we were cooking ganjah cookies in an adobe oven in the middle of a block that was 1 huge empty lot..and for a 4 block radius the enbtire hood smelled like weed.. the cops in charge of the drug shurdown operation came over to admire the oven, sniffed a few times and winked then were like ..we'll let ya get away with this..if you let us come back and cook withg yas...
hell i dunno how nmany cops ive run into all over the country that ytold me thewy worked a gatghering oncew and now cant wait to go back out of uniform..

 

Those videos make it look so much fun!! I was watching one of the youtube videos that shows the kids activity area and they were both in awe. I would LOVE TO GO! I googled to see if there was any info for Canada, but it's either buried deep in google's search engine or they do not have much happening up here anymore. All the online Rainbow groups seem to be gone. I think I could even take my kids without bringing hubby along (he works) such a shame there is nothing nearby.

 

I cant imagine using cloth diapers when out in the woods for a few weeks. I used them for both my boys but that would be a tough call for me to make.

 

Gatherings are their own little cities, Daisy. Anything you can do in your house can be done at gathering. And some of the greatest, most generous people in the world go. Truly awesome stuff. I always thought most Gatherings were learned about by word of mouth, I didn't know there was a schedule on Google and what not. High tech!

Oh, and if you know of any in Canada, please let me know. I have no friends that attend them so no word of mouth happening here.

 

If you hang out on Shakedown long enough, you inevitably end up at a Gathering. More fun than a smoking chimp! I haven't been in a loong time, but I want to.

 

this is kinda wierd because i was researching rainbow gatherings last night. does anyone know where the next one will be. im hoping it is in the NJ/NY/PA area

daisy there arer several gathgerings every year in canada. typicaly if an area has 1 evfery year, its concidered to just be well known so isnt announced always..ppl just flock there and find it by sorta a radar sence (1 pa regional i went to the forresty a month earely with no info at all, i wandered the entire forrest searching then just gave up and parked..4 days later the 1st kitchen showed up right where i parked which turned out to be the suply trail head.. in 800 square miles, i found the exact spot purwely by instinct)
but there are alotta canadian yahoo groups and stuff or u can join us at www.rainbowgatherings.org its a small new but growing and extremely freindly community



oh and daisy believe it or not ive seen 10 year old kids there whos parents senmt them alone when the parents cxouldnt attend...ofcourse those parents had gone for years and the kids grww up there
but im just saying that ya you could definately come just with the kids and hasve an awesome time..and kid villiage is 1 of the most peacefull places to camp besides yoga meadow
the kids are so important and respected tht its the kid villiage parade that signals the end of the sillence on the 4th and in council, kids have as much say in what goes on as everryone...and im not sure if this is true of every gathering, but at the pa national (last 1) they required there to be 2 kids on bankinmg council (banking council is open to all like all councils, but is the only one with appointed m,embers)
kid villiage also gets 1/3 of the funds from the magic hat
1/3 goes to kid villiagfe, 1/3 to food for main supply and 1/3 goes to calm/medical while loose change gets put away to be added to the cleanup fund

 

ive heard rumors of a pa regional or vermont, but dont have any cconcrete indfo since im moving outta ther pa areea in 2 weeks.. but if there is 1 its comming up real soon

that surgery i had months ago, they put 2 bolts in my foot into the bone...days before i was ready to leave 1 decided to come out, leaving a 4 inch deep hole straight into the bone..i figureds mud and a hole like that would not bve good
plus, at the same time my best freind who i was going to go with her kids were kidnapped by her ex's family and the bus we bought for the trip was hit by a truck the day we got it (bought a new better bus today though) so was just a string of bad luck
