Recently built greenhouse for variety of plants & herbs. Have grown indoors...CO2/HPS, etc....for awhile, and would like to save on $$ during flowering. Greenhouse spiked into 90's a couple times when full sun was un-abated and now I see flowers looking a bit 'light and dry'. Are there any issues I should pay attention to when moving plants from high CO2 environment into regular mountain air? Or anything else I should look out for? Thanks
'not real familiar with greenhouse growing; but off the top of my punkin' head, I ask, do ya have ventilation? fans in n out? so the mnt. air can get to the plants and help cool them abit?
No doubt, been missin' the sun here too, strange weather we're have'n, Thunderstorms at the wrong end of summer and such!>D
Yeah...right? April was hot & dry...and now May-June is wetter than Oregon! But the few days the greeenhouse got too hot made the buds too airy and dry. Now wondering when to harvest a couple of them. Wish I could grow a plant that looked like the ones on CNBC....!~
Follow up on outdoor greenhouse: Have some Hawaiian plants from seeds; they've gotten pretty tall (3-4') and are putting on buds but not the same as plants I'm used to. The buds are lean, right along the stems, and don't have a lot of mass. Is this the product of too much heat for the high part of the day, or is this some trait from Hawaiian stock? I could post pics if needed.
Also, rare purple pistils are on these plants and the leaves stay quite close to the bud area so I'm wondering how I'm supposed to trim these babies eventually? I think I need to add pics.
Here's a pic or two. I've never grown Hawaiian and I don't recognized the way the buds are forming. Anyone got ideas?
that is a toxic plant my friend, lol.. The leafy type produce alot of rez.. It will probable flower for a while and be really thick.. NICE.
Hot-damn!! ...good. I'm sitting here losing my patience trying to figure out how to put these pics into another post. Can't find them in my "forum" and can't re-post them (system won't allow it) Can't figure out how to just put pics in post, rather than link. I'll try to post pics when harvested.
ill bet its a cross with this, .. http://www.buydutchseeds.com/product_info.php?products_id=92 Originally this strain was imported from Afghanistan and selectively bred in Holland for indoor cultivation. Afghan has a strong acrid aroma. Greasy resin glands extend to the fat shade leaves. The smoke is heavy with a strong almost numbing buzz if raised and cured properly. This plant has a high flower to leaf ratio and good yield. Afghan is one of the original genetic lines used in many popular modern day hybrids. the smoke is thick and sometimes green tastiness, its almost not possible to flush out the green, and manicuring to close you lose them large glands on the leafs and wind tossing them. So I suggest a rough cut, and then a separate trim to keep those tight leafs with thick glands for later... prolly my favorite.. it shows sometimes.. lol..
New issue: Now I'm finding out that the light period is so long...Rocky Mtns...that some of the plants are re-veging after already putting on buds. Crap..what next. Anyone got an idea how to thwart this problem? Sun comes up at 5:30...sun on greenhouse by 9am, down after 6:30pm...and lights out by 8:30pm-9pm. The 18 hours of light is screwing with the plants. And if I do just leave them alone, will the buds eventually set..?..or will they be screwed up from reverting back and forth? TKS
