even though i like the sex pistols, anarchy in the u.k. isn't (in my opinion) the best punk song ever.

The Clash's Lost in the Supermarket should be on a list somewhere.
It doesn't rock real hard, but it has a great punk sensibility.

what about sheena is a punkrocker? that's fucking punk
i think pennywise ought to have one up there too. they're tight and fast, and they're my idea of the ideal skate punk band, if there is one.

This song pretty much defined pop punk in the 90s...why would I be kidding you...maybe Carousel doesn't deserve to be that high..I guess it needs to be number 30 or 31

I'm not even really a punk rock fan, but Rock the Casbah should be on there.

...Blink 182 is punk rock?? Since when?
And Rock the Casbah isn't a great song. I don't listen to punk but I have a Clash album that's really good but not too many people have heard of it...it's called "Give 'Em Enough Rope." I think the best Clash song is "Safe European Home", it's really fun.

Not all of you, but it seems as though most of you have a very scewed opinion of what PUNK is! As a matter of fact, I really wouldn't consider any of those songs on the list good punk songs. And I would barely consider any of those as punk bands. The closest you come to punk is the sex pistols.

    Nice try though.

All of those bands that you named are the wrapped up, ready-for-sale corporate idea of punk music.

I guess its clear that we can't all agree on what "punk" is. It means something different and represents something different to everybody, so rather than making a top 20 list of punk rock for everyone, how about everybody just makes their own top 20, and maybe explain why we picked some songs/bands that others might not agree with at all. For instance, I would have included The Distillers and Taking Back Sunday on that list, just because they represent something different to me than it might mean to somebody else.

You sure do listen to some terrible music, you need to get out and find your own style. You listen to what every teenager in America listens. They think that its rebellious, but its a trend. That is not punk, "Punk" rockerchris!

Hahaa...you sure told him off, Jonee. Cheers to that.

Oh, do I have to say that I was being sarcastic about Good Charlotte & Avril Lavigne?
