Lucky you! My mother still likes to tell this story ... she just happened to be in New York during the week in 1964 when the Beatles first came over for the Ed Sullivan show. Nine months and one day after that show, I was born. And I do resemble Paul McCartney, sorta.
Well the show was pretty fucking awesome to say the least. He opened up with Drive My Car and Jet and then played some of his most recent stuff. Hey Jude lasted about 10 minutes with the na na na na's. They had some awesome fireworks to go along with Live and Let Die. He also played Helter Skelter, Lady Madonna, A Day in the Life, Something, the Long and Winding Road, Band on the Run, Get Back, Give Peace a Chance, and many others that I can't recall off the top of my head. He finished with Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and The End. My buddy went to the show on Friday night where Billy Joel made a guest appearance. He doesn't even like the Beatles but said it was the best concert he's ever been to in his life.
Most of my friends listen to hip hop or rap or whatever they call it... I'm the only hippie in my group of friends lol. So do you think you are really the daughter of Paul? That would be pretty wild if you were.
Oh, without a doubt Our family has gotten lots of mileage from that story over the years. My mother says I look like Paul ... my father says I look more like George. So I tease her by asking "Mom, which of them did you actually do?" She just laughs. How did Paul look, by the way? He's what ... 68 or 69 now? Is he showing his age?
He looks like he's only in his 50s and is probably the most energetic 60-something year old I've ever seen. No gray hair either. I believe he's a vegetarian so that's probably the reason for it. I'm assuming he doesn't smoke anymore either.
That's great to hear. He's such a charmer. I can sit for hours and watch YouTube clips of interviews with him. It's hard to believe it's been almost 30 years since John was killed
