Doesn't everybody know that the moon landing hoax conspiracy was started by people as NASA to hide from the people what they really found on the moon. If they get people to believe that they never went there, they can hide the truth that much easier.

The Apollo program was obviously invented to boost Walter Cronkite's ratings. ;)

I believe that some conspiracy theories do exist.
I have also made it a hobby to debunk most conspiracy theories.
I have found the moon landing conspiracy is very difficult to disprove.
I now am borderline on it, its very possible that it was just a cold-war tactic and a fake, it is also sort of possible that they did in fact pull it off.

so we went to the moon a couple of times.

we aren't going to colonize it for at least another 100 years..and forget about Mars..that will even be longer..

Good point! :) Nevertheless, that article makes some very good points. It doesn't attempt to scientifically disprove that it happened, only points out the most obvious common sense reasons in favor of it having happened.

Just because it's 100 years away doesn't mean we shouldn't start working on it.

seventeen years after the first supersonic flight, a sustained manned mach three jet was built.

tech goes faster than you think.

    Never saw this.

I was being sarcastic about the forest fires part.

I don't think its edgy. Just sayin, i think its more pertinent to focus on earth.

Spending money on the space program directly benefits the Earth and its people. The money isn't launched into space, it goes to giving people jobs. Afaik, NASA is the only government agency that actually generates new money in the economy, through the development of new technologies advances, then gives those technologies, for free, to the private sector to be used in industry. By some estimates, it returns 14 dollars to every 1 spent. These technologies have made virtually everyone's life better, think - smoke detectors, cordless power tools, disposable diapers, LEDs, Cat scans, laser surgery, lightning protection for airplanes, "jaws of life", new water purification and filters, solar panels/power, direct tv, satellite radio, lightweight composite materials that benefit cars, airplanes, camping gear, etc and the list goes on and on and on.

I don't want a penny of my tax money to go towards that kind of a goal. You should thank god that we have a government that doesn't give people like me a choice about it.
