okay, does anyone here have breast cancer or IBC (inflammatory breast cancer)? Im looking specifically those younger than 40, and what kind of treatment your recieving.
Can somebody please share knowledge with me, im freaking going insane here. What do they do in an ultra sound? Rub jelly on my boob? wtf respond please
I've had ultrasounds recently on my breast. Luckily, I only have benign cysts. They just put the jelly on you and rub the little ultrasound pad on you. It doesn't hurt and it's over pretty quick.
I've had a ultra sound as well, it's nothing to worry about. It would be pretty rare for you to have cancer at 17 I would think....(but wouldn't know) I had really lumpy breasts until they were done growing though, so I wouldn't stress. Your lumps could be alot of things.
Yeah thats what I was told, until they found out that I have a history of it in my family, including both grandparents. And its a solid, unmovable mass so eh.. Ill find out by Monday i think, and thanks for the ultra sound info. Anyone gotten the Biopsy thing though, like were they stuck a needle into the mass?
My aunt had breast cancer. They told her hers was nothing to worry about, and it ended up being everything to worry about. So, please, don't take it lightly. I'm not trying to scare you, but it COULD be breast cancer despite your age, which I'm sure you know. She had an ultrasound done, and from what I remember her telling me about it, she said the worst part was that the jelly was cold. And, she said the biopsy was painful....it's still my belief that them biopsying the mass inside her breast is what lead to her cancer spreading, but I'm not a doctor and have had many people tell me I'm ignorant for believing that. But, it only makes sense. So, you can look forward to pain if/when they biopsy the mass. Good luck.
yep, ultrasounds are the same no matter where you get them, although when they did mine on my belly they kept the jelly in the warming drawer, i have a good OB/GYN keep your chin up, they will check it and see. just relax.
Do take heart ... lots of lumps aren't cancer. And even if it is -- heaven forbid -- remember that breast cancer has a very high remission rate, especially if caught early. It's improved trememdously just in the past 10-20 years. We can all thank the Komen Foundation for that. Best of luck to you
I actually had to demand an ultrasound first, for some reason the doctor wanted a biopsy. But thanks everyone for the support, Im currently out of my home state working, and obviously a minor so i havent told my family about any of this. Having this to express on is really helping.
update: so i went to the doctors on monday, and the radiologist hadnt taken the time to schedule me in for an ultra sound, so i once again got to pay to simply get another doctors opinion lmao. I was visiting in Oregon and since i just came back home, im probably going to have to go through the whole process again lmao, so who knows how long that'll take
woo well doctor thinks its just a very severe case of costochondritis...AKA...a really bad inflammation of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the sternum. so for now I load up on ibuprofen and hope it subsides
