Why must you be so binding? I love you, but I hate you. I'm trying to quit cigarettes, and thats going pretty well, but I can't seem to quit nicotine completely. I quit last Sunday, smoked half of a cigarette Saturday, and smoked a Black and Mild Sunday. It seems that I can completely control my urges during the week because I work out, but when it comes to the weekend I'm a sucker. I'm really worried about Friday though because I'm going to a kegger, and I loooove to smoke when I drink. I don't think I'm just ready to go completely nicotineless for this party so I've narrowed down my choices to a few Black and Milds or buy a tin of Skoal. So basically what I'm asking is what would be worse for my health, Skoal every few weeks to relax with or a single Black and Mild every week to go along with a blunt to the dome.

For thousands of years many of the original peoples of the Americas have cherished tobacco as the most sacred of all gifts given by the Creator. It is holy....it sanctifies life and keeps everything in balance. Mainstream society suffers from nicotine addiction. What happened? It's all about the nature of one's relationship to the world and to life itself..

That makes sense, but tobacco isn't pure anymore. Just like everything in modern society.

    damn you modern society!

black and mild's are definatly worse for your lungs. But the skoal might not be such a good idea, because it's feeding your nicotine addiction.

What you need to try to do is hit "rock bottom" as they say. Go on a nicotine splurge! slap like 5 patches on your body until you get sick of nicotine forever!
(this actually probably isn't the best idea ever, you should probably just stick to quitting smoking)

I actually decided to quit like two days ago, and i'm doing pretty good so far. hopefully i'll still be good by like next week.

I did hit "rock bottom". I was smoking like a half pack a day until football camp came, and then I felt like death. Kept me off smoking though, that is until the weekend.

GUM! GUM! and MORE GUM!... trust me.. feeding the oral fixation of having a cig in your mouth will help you deal with not having a cig a lot easier

Try some deep breathing exercises too. I've heard that most of the addictiveness of smoking cigarettes was simply the breathing, or at least thats where the calming effect is from.

dont inhale the black and mild. id say the health risks of that vs skoal are more or less equal. if you buy a tin youll be tempted to dip more than once a month since one tin is like 20 lips, so maybe the black and milds would be better.

why dont you start smoking premium cigars instead? higher quality product, more expensive, status symbol, and just all around bad ass.

Thats the thing with dip though. My gums get so fucked up I don't really do it more than once a month. Its the only tobacco product I know how to control. I'd smoke premium cigars if I had the money and the time.
