I feel confident in saying that my pizza eating ability has improved 120% since I first began studying metaphysics and science.
False. I eat pizza because it is greasy and decadent and because it flies in the face of everything reasonable, healthy and true. I usually wash it down with icecream. And there is something else, wait for it....... I get my pizza from dominos. (shock horror)
I just lost all respect for you and I've flipped my philosophical views so that they are the reverse of yours.
Idealism says that nothing can be known except thoughts, and all the reality we know is mental. Realism claims that we know objects directly, in sensation, and maybe also in memory and thought. Also, thoughts cannot just happen or come and go, they need a person to think them (apparently) therefore, based on this that would mean matter cannot happen without having someone think it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexius_Meinong According to this guy "the object might exist without the thought, but not the thought without the object."
It's nice and pretty to think that mind creates matter or whatever and that the world wouldn't exist without the mind and such other crap. But all in all... it's all merely crap. Dumb, unrealistic crap. The mind might seem like everything, but in reality... it is nothing, it has as much value as your liver, lungs, or neck arteries. The fact that we're so aware of our minds as humans fools us into thinking that it's special. All this pseudo-intellectual philosophical bullshit is just a bunch of uneducated speculations.
uneducated. man I've read some of this shit directly from books by people who pioneered the study of philosophy and psychology. Uneducated, I don't think so, brah. Jung Bertrand Russel David Hume Meinong Yes, such uneducated people The first part of your post seemed good, to bad you threw that in at the end.
