Public libraries, even those in schools, seem to be oddly barefoot-hostile. It does happen in some of the bigger-city libraries that homeless people "take shelter" in the bathrooms, so I'm fuzzy-guessing that once you have "homeless," the whacky barefooters will be next, and we gotta keep public facilities attracting the public. 'Course, who freakin' READS anymore? Get the DVD or recorded version! University libraries are rarely barefoot-friendly, given all the students who, if permitted in barefoot, would obviously BLOW THEM UP! Damn radicals! Anybody live in any city where the libraries DON'T CARE??? Yes, I've been in a few and have not been bothered, but even our Philadelphia libraries have the silly/perpetual NS3 (no shoes, no shirt, no service) item in amongst the regulations.
Really? I've only attended two major four-year Universities, but I've visited the libraries of several others, and I've seen plenty of people barefoot in them. Who's going to care, anyway? Most of the people working there are students themselves. Are they going to bother telling a fellow student to put some shoes on? I doubt it.
Went to Georgetown U and was always barefoot in the library. On the other hand in the suburban town next to me they supposedly will have you arrested. Went in barefoot twice and left without handcuffs and leg irons. lol
