    Please help,

I'm worried about having STIs as I found out my ex was sleeping around while we were still together. I can't really take time out to go to the doctors as my job owns my life and I can barely take a sick day unless I stop breathing basically... Also I might be totally fine, so it would be a total waste of time if they didn't find anything! I know stuff like chylamidia doesn't necessarly have symptoms. Just wondered if anyone knows any alternatives - I heard you can get tests online but I don't know how reliable they are.

    Ideas and suggestions welcome!

    Thanks!

I would say that you pretty much have to go to the doctor's to get tested. Does your doc have a time where they do evenings? Could you call and explain your situation? Or could you go to a clinic?

I would not trust my health to online tests.

p.s. your job owns your life?

I've useda self testing kit called clamelle before when I was when i was worried about chlyamidia- google it - they can post it to you AND post you some drugs if you actually have it so you literally don't need to go anywhere. I was at uni and not registered with any local doctors anyway so I wanted a simple solution. i got it off treatdiscreet.com. totally worth it for saving me the hassle. Good luck - being cheated on is a bad enough thing to have to deal with let alone worry about STIs!

    Thanks for your help everyone.

Daisymae - by online tests I meant order-online - not like a self diagnosis!

Kate - I might give that treatdiscreet one a go, pleased to hear it worked for you.

DazedGypsy - In terms of being safer in future...did not exactly know my bf was cheating on me when we'd been together over a year - you can't exactly blame me for not being safe in what was meant to be a committed relationship!

Job owns my life yes - work in sales - I'm there from half 7 in the morning often till half 7 at night - they've recently made redundancies at work so taking time out really isnt an option..

Any other thoughts let me know - will see let you know how clamelle works out!

There is a series of tests you have to undergo.
Not only Chlamydia but also the nastier ones, hepatitis and HIV.
If you have no symptoms and cannot afford the hassle of contacting a doctor (though, you should!!!), visit a laboratory and ask the microbiologist to give you a full lab scan.

Public health clinics generally have off hours and are free. Go get tested; it's not really negotiable.

If it turns out negative, it won't be wasted time. You spent the time to get the peace of mind of knowing you are healthy and not endagering any future partners.

if your sexual partner has slept with others definitely you've got a high possibility of acquiring STD. my advice is even you are feeling well right you should visit an expert.. remember that prevention is better than cure.
