So I can recover from last weekend. I had this insane idea that it was going to be a nice relaxing weekend. 1 Jeep and 2 trucks down. Mechanic does not have parts. Massive rain and flooding. Water pump breakdowns. Customer miscommunications. Security breach that led to 2 hours of trudging in the mud to terrorize some thieves. That was kid of cool. But I was pissed it happened when I was in the middle of a joint. So at the time that really pissed me off. After 2 hours of wet madness I had quite an adventure getting back. Today I feel like I am do not have enough energy to be lazy. Does anybody actually rest on the weekend?
we dont have weekends here. we take days now and again. today is one of them. and so far nothings actually happened to change it. i can totally relate to planning to relax and having things come up. with farming,if a critter gets out or a tree falls across a fence or a host of other things,it doesnt matter what your doing, what the weather is or what time it is,its time to go to work and work till its done..
Im self employed...so a weekend happens whenever I want it to happen If heat didnt make me so sick I would try and hit you up for work
Well if you call being ridiculed all weekend relaxing *laughs* I am only joking I did not take any business calls at all Seems typical business hours do not apply to consultants That is ok though The advice is better late than never I hope :smilielol5:
I try to stay somewhat busy, otherwise it's a horrible weekend. I hate sitting around bored, gives me too much time to think and dwell on things I can't control. Saturday I was up at 8:30 (I get up most workdays at 10, mind you), went to a meeting up at work, then got gas in my car and drove an hour to a junkyard to find doorhandles for my car. Successfully found handles and then drove the hour home, then sat down for about five minutes when my dad called and asked if I'd like to ride into town with them to go grocery shopping. So an hour or two in town, then when I got home I finally got to chill out for a bit, then my best friend called me and she came over with her laptop and old pictures and videos from high school and we talked until about 12:30 AM and then she went home and Daniel and I finally made dinner. Sunday I was a bit lazier, got up at 11, the internet and phone were down, and stayed down all day (which explains my absence, lol), so Daniel finally snaked the drain in the sink that's been giving us so much hell, and he washed all the dishes in the house, and I cleaned the living room and kitchen and did a bunch of laundry. The internet should die more often, we'd get a lot more done.
I feel better now. I did not have to deal with someones yapping mouth. So I must be doing damn good. Stuff always breaks down around here. Trucks, tractors, bush hogs, pumps. It is crazy. The biggest issue is getting parts and making sure the mechanic does not steal parts off the vehicle. So you are unemployed?
My Internet has been fucked for about 3 days. The freaky weather. It takes about 5 minutes for a page to load. I go nuts when I have no Internet. You sound real productive.:cheers2:
I've had a lot of weekends like that. Now I'm sorta on break for a month, so I'm doing lots of writing.
the weekends are when i work most of my hours. monday-thursday is my weekend. i'm going to be kind of busy this week anyway, but it's better than being at work.
