It's winter over here, and mulled wine is one of the loveliest things about winter - it's spicy and soothing and completely warming. As we've had a recent upsurgence of amazing little outdoor psy parties this winter, it's quickly becoming my drink of choice. Was wondering how adding dried shrooms to the mix would go? Debate over the degradation of psilocin/psilocybin continues, but I don't want to boil it...merely steep it like tea. However, would the ethanol in the wine affect the shrooms? Should I add the mushies after I'm done steeping the cinnamon and cloves etc? Are there any spices that shrooms don't get along well with? Thanks for any help. ^__^
Should be just fine. The water, as well as the EtOH would pull out psulocybin/psilocin. The heat shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as you don't boil it. Just maybe steep it for longer.
Sounds great. I would add the shrooms either before or after the cinnamon, colves etc, It dosent really matter, as long as you soak the dried/powdered shrooms for 30+ minutes. Try adding a little ginger to reduce the nausea. I recomend using a low ammount af alcohol anda large ammount of shrooms. The brew should be consumed immediatley after you make it. its not a good storage method as the psilocybin will degrade in the water so If you leave it for a few days it probably wont be as potent.
Yup, heating 'shrooms in liquid is fine as long as you don't get carried away with temperature. I've made teas a fair few times now. About 10 minutes on a medium heat seems to do the trick nicely.
Your very brave to mix those spices and the alcohol with mushrooms, my stomach wouldn't support it. Let us know how it works out.
