yeah, chicken and turkeys shit everywhere too; and ducks are just like chickens and turkeys in the IQ department also... THEIR AS DUMB AS ALL FUCK TOO!

i, and my dogs, have had bad run ins with the drakes.
those drakes sneak up behind me and bite my ass and legs.
sasha (my border collie) tried to befriend a duck, he bit her nose and would not let go either.
poor dog was crying and yapping like all hell while swinging her head back and forth until she got the duck to fly off her nose.
casper (my cocker spaniel) had a duck sneak up behind him and grab his tail; he too, was crying and yapping running around dragging the duck behind him... poor dog, scared him so badly he even shitted on the duck too while running around.
both dogs have learned their lesson about ducks, and they adviod them at all costs now... i stay a safe distance from the too, while i feed them bread crumbs. i like ducks, i just don't like having my ass and legs bit though!

i have notice, that ducks will not bother with cats, cows, deer, horses, or sheep. i guess that is because those animals won't kill and eat them like dogs, or people will.

check out feathersite.com for anything pertaining to fowl of any kind. the site has some good stuff on it but it has tons of good links to other websites specializing in certain breeds

    pretty much.

i used to have a pair of muscovies, and they were great but the mess was just way too much to deal with.
we didnt have a proper pond and their kiddie pool would get disgusting in a matter of hours. plus they would wet shit everywhere and copiously.
that being said, i like ducks and hope to have a flock in the future when i have a real pond and dont have to worry about them flying away. oh yeah, they fly real well too. i cant remember if i clipped their wings, it was years ago.
anyway, congrats on your new acquisitions :)
