new dreadhead

    i have just had my dreads done this last weekend, and would like advice on what to do next, like do i just leave them alone until my next waxing or do i need to do something with them.

    Basically, I'll just give you a foretelling. Expect a fair amount of people to make posts yelling spasmodically about the evils of wax. So pretty much, they're gonna tell you to get that wax out, start over, and never put wax in your hair again.

    out of curiosity.. what method did you use? since you said wax, I'll assume you backcombed since that's what most sites say.
    don't do anything now... just wash when you feel you need to (no conditioner and use residue free shampoo if you use shampoo) and pull your dreads apart when the roots try to combine (congo) if you want them to stay the same size they are. That's it really.


    oh yeah... wax is evil.. not needed blah blah blah and all that...

    I didn't use wax just left them alone after backcombing. If I had one that started to come apart too much i just threw a bead on it.

    Welcome, just leave them now. No need to rewax and no need to take them out and start over.

    LOL I got kicked out of one because I said don't use wax people were like "whut? Are you TRYING to kill his/her dreads?" Then I got removed. WTFever.

    I saw your posts on some of those groups, LMAOOOOOO!
