Thunder claps and bludgeoning rain drops
Lightning strikes and my bustling brain stops
Singed and smoldering, scorched skin smokes
Beneath blistering garments, muddy and soaked
Face down in this grit, grime and decay
Struck down by nature, life fading away
Palpitating heart halts and quickly grows cold
For a fleeting moment, heaven unfolds
In a flash and a crackle
    Blackness is all I behold

"In A Flash and A Crackle" might be the better title. I'm still thinking on it.

The inspiration is Albert Camus's concept of the Absurd.
