I was reading through some of the past threads, and I saw that there have been swap boxes started. So I decided I wanted to start one too. I think I am going to do mine a little bit differently, so that way it is a little bit more organized.

How the swap box will be organized:
    01. I will be taking the first 10 to 14 people that sign up. I think the b ox will be easier to track if there aren't that many people on the list.
    02. The box will be shipped out in a circle. That means it will go from closet destination to closet destination. That way, the sender will save on postage sending it to someone closer to you, rather then across the country.
    03. Once you receive the box, try not to keep it for more then a week. After you have received it, cross out your name on the list.
    04. Once you receive the box, post on this thread when you received it and when you shipped it out. That way we can track its progress.

Also, I had another idea for this swapbox. If I included a small journal with just enough pages for each participant to have two to themselves, would you fill it up with your poetry, pictures of where you live, postcards, etc..? Kind of like a swap box scrapbook. I think that would be really neat. If not, I can scrap the idea.

PM me your name and address if you would like to be a part of this scrap box. I can't wait to get it started. I will be taking names for a week, and then sending the box out on Monday, November 15th.

Question? For those of you who have done a swap box before, what kind of box is best to use? And do you send it regular mail or priority? Either way is not a problem for me.

    Thank you,
    ~ Lily

i'll sign up, even though only 2 out of about 8 swap boxes ever made it my way. Hippies might like peace and love, but it seems they like to steal too! what's with that?

I have no idea why you only received two boxes out of eight, but I hope that you receive this one. I will add you to the list.

How much do you have to contribute to the box? Like, one thing for one thing? Because I dont have all that much to contribue....maybe 2 or 3 small things at best...so Im just wondering. And what kinds of things?

Anything that you want to get rid of that you think someone else could use. If you have two or three small things, then just stick them in the box, take out three or four small things, and mail it to the next person. It doesn't have to be a set amount of items. :)

I would love for you to be a part of it. That would be great since it is already going to Canada anyways.

We now have seven people on the list for the swapbox. And a possible. Sweetersappe, there is room for you. I would love for you to be a part of it. Shelly-Welly, I need your real name before I can add you to list. You just sent me and address. Same with you Seahorse, unless your postal man will give you mail with the name Seahorse, then Seahorse if fine with me. :)

We now have eight people on the list. I just added Sweetersappe and Personface. I removed shelly-welly because she didn't give me a name, just an address. I need your address to add you back to the list. We have a nice list of great people, and I don't think anyone will have a problem with receiving this box and it making a full circle.

loveflower you can put anything in the box that you don't want anymore or any type of craft that you make. You can also include candles, incencse, a CD, etc. Just whatever you don't mind parting with that can fit inside of the box.

We now have ten people on the list. Do you all think that this is big enough, or should I accept at least two or three more?

How long would it take for the box to get around with ten people?

If everyone keeps to their promise and only keeps it for a week. It will be in travel for two and a half months. (Ten weeks.)

I'd like to join, if it's not too late
And it'll take longer than ten weeks, because there is the time that it spends in the postal system.
