or here's an alternate idea: lets not because it's been done dozens of times over the past year alone and it's always the same bullshit edit: though the same could be said for many threads i start/participate in
no, because there is nothing valid to go on. the calendar is reputed to be good at predicting things, but others disagree. without being able to read it yourself and compare it to ACCURATE history (which is not always as depicted in texts) there is no way to verify this. the theories in existance are extremely varied and often extremely implausible even if they make a touch of sense to begin with. two things i'm confident of is that the world will not be destroyed in 2012 and life on earth will not end in 2012. no matter how accurate "predictions" in the calendar are, i've NEVER heard a source that seemed even remotely worth considering say that the calendar predicts the end of the world. the calendar simply ends there. again, without being able to understand and read the calendar there is no telling. and if you can't understand it yourself it is flat out stupid to try and generate your own theories regarding it. i don't understand quantum mechanics, so why would i try to create theories based on what i've read regarding it? and its even more true when considering the calendar in question as it has been out of use for a LONG time. at least with quantum mechanics the people who are working in the field are still around to at least kind of dumb it down for us. the people who created the calendar are not around to tell us what any of it means. it's purely guesswork. something so unknowable with no changable impact on humanity is not worth considering in this case.
the only reason anything will change in 2012 is because people will flip out and change things themselves.
There's nothing to 2012 other than an opportunity to sensationalize something and sell books. However, that does not mean "they" will not orchestrate events to correspond with this time period. This 2012 stuff really is carefully-crafted propaganda. It's predictive programming designed to condition people for the changes that are coming as we enter into the Aquarian age. That's why it's being so heavily promoted. That way when these changes do arrive -- not because of some "higher power" but due to the PTBs actions themselves -- it will seem normal to people and like it's out of their control. Organized religion serves the same purpose. Christians believe the rapture is coming, and therefore will not fight against the coming changes because they feel it's out of their control and destined to happen. It's the same thing with the New Age religion. It's all about taking over your mind and making you feel powerless.
Ah, that was the Aztec. The Spanish had no contact with the Maya. Do I buy the 2012 stuff? Nope but I am going to have one huge party.:cheers2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbBmlHGgsgc I enjoy this video. it's on topic I don't give a shit about the whole thing. nothing I can do about it.
December 21, 2012: obama will come out and apologize to the world that the U.S bankrupted itself before he could save it ~ Hey its a reasonable theory
http://www.history.com/states.do?ac...State_Generic&contentId=56379&parentId=MEXICO While the Maya civilizations had significantly declined in the 8th and 9th centuries, remnants of Maya civilization still existed when the conquistadors arrived.
The day before the apocalypse, I'm gonna start a massive orgy. If the world ends, which I doubt, I'll die happy and well-fucked. I'll have said goodbye to the world in a great way. If not, then I just got a free orgy out of the deal and I can go on with my every-day life.
ok, we've sufficiently discussed one myth so far. if we ever expect to discuss 2011 more of them in this thread i think we need to move on.
myth - if you put two dead pigs in a corvette, seal it up airtight, let it sit for two months can you still sell it?
