http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07312009/watch.htm/ and then PBS programs A to Z and click on Bill Moyers. All you folks that are so afraid of government run health care NEED-I repeat-NEED to see this so that you will hopefully stop repeating the insurance-republican script that you have been fed.
If the US can pull off a good government run healthcare system comparable to those in Western European countries and so on,it would be a very good thing. But the US government is not that competent, are they.--
tell me what in this is false or misrepresented?? http://www.lc.org/media/9980/attachments/healthcare_overview_obama_072909.pdf that is the standard "whats wrong with this bill" document i am seeing floating around. can you show me whats untrue about it?
We'll get there in the end, scratcho http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07312009/watch.html I'll try and contribute something in a day or so.
Well,it's always what we're told and in many cases it's true.If the legislators weren't so susceptible to payoffs from organizations like insurance companies,Pharma, ect, something could get done. They're at the bidding of the monied class and it sure doesn't seem like a democracy to me.Did you watch Moyers interview with Potter?
i dont have a tv and with all due respect bill moyers politics and mine come nowhere close to aligning, therefore i would never rely on him as a source of information. but thats just me.
I see you're off,but I must say that Moyers questions to interviewees are pretty much trying to get at facts--to the heart of matters. His sense of what is right or wrong concerning what goes on in this country exactly lines up with mine. You don't need a TV--just follow the links.
he may be a good interviewer, i dunno. i just have read his commentaries. i tend to think its hard for one to break away from their political ideologies even when giving interviews, therefore the questions tend to be geared towards exposing or highlighting what benefits their political agenda. the same can be said for those on the right and any other political ideology as well though.. i think people as a whole tend to try and get their news from like minded sources, thats why news is often apt to get skewed on all sides of a issue.
Yeah, political agendas become quite clear as soon as people open their yaps. And that's why I completely disagree with republican agendas.(agendi?)Except for the 2nd amendment. They say the squeeking wheel gets the grease and unfortunately for the working class, the grease is money and the loudest wheel squeekers are our government representitives. They're willing to lie to us so that the money keeps flowing to them and I think that's exactly what this interview proves. How dare the bastards vote against a decent health care system for all when that's what they get --for life? What they're fooling with now will be watered down and the insurance companies will still be in existence. It's BS and a continuation of the same broken system. The democrats should quit backing down on this. They're spineless and what we'll get is a half-ass system that won't work.
The rest of the 'civilized' world has basically gotten rid of healthcare insurance companies. But not the US.Healthcare insurance companies should be put out of business period.
