Where is the love?

I guess "love" is sort of relative, and I view it as a peptide addiction more than anything....but seriously, where is the love?

I remember this sub-forum being a helpful place for those who were considering starting the dread journey by whatever means (some even seeking advice/opinions in regards to what "means"). Nowadays it seems like it has turned in to an RT, lots of random incoherent rambles and a shitload of "hate," both serious and sarcastic (the sarcastic is ok...I suppose, but still). It use to be a place where dreaded folk like you and I (well perhaps not "you") would gather and discuss things related to the world and not just specifically dreadlocks. It was interesting hearing other opinions on various subjects that varied from ethics and politics to astrology and psychology. Some of the "older" members left and started that other site and it seems after that things just kinda went downhill from there.....

I mean there's still some really amazing people in here, I'm just wondering what the fuck happened? And why is everyone so quick to verbally abuse eachother? The closest thing to this I remember was back when a few people would disagree with Soaring Eagle and make it publicly clear what they thought about him, but that was about as "bad" as it would get if I remember correctly....

(And now the cliche) Can't we all just get along?

 

I haven't visited this place in a few years and to be honest I was pretty surprised about the analness, hostility and negativity of the community.

I agree though, there should be more love around here. Playfull, serious or between the lines, but it needs more warmth.

I already stated that I don't believe in "love" it was more just a figure of speech. All I'm asking for, or rather hinting at is simply some civility towards eachother. You don't have to pretend to love eachother, just don't be an asshole, is it really that hard?

Just seems to me that some people can't recognise a joke. Fair enough, some of these jokes have gone a bit far but if everyone wasn't so defensive and quick to counter attack we wouldn't be having these problems. Pypes quoted it best with his next generation recognising lols.
