I posted a question in the astrology concepts sticky, but figured there might be more traffic in a new thread.

From what I can tell, I have my moon, venus, mars, saturn, uranus & neptune all in my 12th house, in capricorn. I'm wondering what the significance of such a concentration of planets might be. I'm pretty new to astrology and would love to hear anything you folks might have to say.

If it helps, here is my chart.

    :]

I think u have a very interesting chart and should go to an astrologer. but what i can tell u from my chart i have venus and mars in the 12th. the 12th house has to do with things that r hidden , secrets and your own undoing- venus- in the 12th u will have secret love affaires , u might meet the one u love in a hospital or a prison any kind of institution. u have many secrets! u dont reveal ur true feelings to ppl, very mistical. mars in the 12th- u hide ur anger until the age of about 35- this is from experiance. i wish other ppl who understand ur chart would respond its realy interesting. good luck

Yep on the surface, the 12th house is secrets, secret enemies, incarceration (literal and figurative). Now all of this doesn't mean you will spend your life in jail and fighting with people.

However, you have an obvious mixture of good and bad here. I can't see your chart by the way, so I can only go by what you said. It says your chart has expired.

I don't use the outer planets at all, so I can't comment on Uranus and Neptune.

Saturn and Mars are the malefic planets. The 12th is exactly where you want them to be since the 12th is actually a weak house. The 12th, along with the 6th and 9th are called cadent houses, and when a planet is in a cadent house, it has a harder time acting. So the fact that your malefics are in the 12th means hardship will be kept to a minimum. However, Capricorn is Saturn's sign, and Mars is Capricorn's exalted planet. This means when Saturn and Mars rear their ugly heads, you may not always notice their effects, but when you do, you will notice it big time.

Venus is a benefic planet. If your birth is a day birth, and particularly if Venus is between 15 and 22 degrees, it will be relatively powerful. If you think of it in terms of point value, if you were born in the day, Venus has 3 points. If Venus is within the degrees I mentioned, it will have 2 points. If it's both, Venus will have 5 points. If it's neither, then Venus is called "peregrine" and is weak.

If your Venus has any point value, it will be kind of strong, but the fact that it is in the 12th minimizes the good Venus can give. The more points the better, but it will still be intermittent. If Capricorn is in your 12th, then Venus probably rules your 4th and 9th houses. Venus gives women, parties, socialbility, art, and so on in your home and religion. Again these will be very intermittent and of questionable value depending on how strong Venus is.

The Moon is in detriment in Capricorn. If you have a night birth, the Moon is less weak, but it's still not good. The Moon isn't just emotions, it's also women and travel. The Moon probably rules your 6th house. You will have problems with co-workers, skills, and minor diseases, and medium-length travel.

Take everything I said and think of in a 12th house lens. So trouble with co-workers will take the form of secrecy and hidden anymosity and intrigue.

It means that you have a dreamer in you and that your inner world is very developped and active, that you need time for yourself or you become miserable because you soak up the vibes around you and must cleanse yourself.

I thought I would revive this thread to pose another related question/musings.

The stellium in my 12th house seems to be counterbalanced by Jupiter in my 5th house.

I work with young children in my current job at the YMCA and I LOVE it. I always leave work in a better mood than I came in, and I always feel like I'm learning new things all the time from these kids. I find myself thinking more and more lately that I might like to study to become a teacher. I have always loved children, always wanted my own, always felt somehow MEANT to be a mother. I'm sure this is a regular human feeling, but it seems like it's stronger in me than it is in other people I know my age.

So I'm wondering if it's possible that all that energy being focused in that direction could have a bearing on this?

From what I have read about the 5th house and about Jupiter and what they represent, I'm thinking I'm on the right track -- just wanted to see if there are any other thoughts out there. :]

    here is my chart:

Amazing chart! Enlil has some very good points; however my experience of having Saturn in Scorpio in the 12th belies the common wisdom that malefics are weakened in the 12th - Saturn has been plenty strong in my experience....
12th house planets are working on old, hidden, repressed karma, and usually find difficulty in expressing themselves, and when they do, it's often in awkward ways.
Your chart, however, basically tosses out all common wisdom. You are obviously on a mission, and your Jupiter, exalted in Cancer and blazing away in the 5th house screams that you are a healer of children, and you have clearly already found your path.
You are a beacon of hope for souls in pain, illuminating and healing the prison-madhouse-isolation traditionally associated with the 12th house.
With your north node and mercury in cool, sensible, utopian aquarius, in the first house of your public presentation, you are destined to advance the ideal communal dream.
12th house emphasis compels you to be extremely careful with relationships and to pay special attention to the right use of speech, and avoidance of creating bad karma for yourself - which manifests as the "secret enemies" often mentioned in 12th house recipe books.
The fact that all of that 12th house stuff is in Capricorn suggests an old, ... no, ancient soul who has honed good judgement to a fine polish, and who will use it to its best advantage. You have bravely chosen to put most of your cards in a place of risk for the purpose of healing, evidence of the highest initiation.
Stick with the kids, explore theater [5th house, Leo], and revel in your Pisces Sun's deep sensitivity. Remember too, that Capricorn gets better with age; rough beginnings engender a well-paced, long-haul ability that you can harness to great advantage for yourself and the community.
It's the Jupiter exalted in Cancer that has helped you to get on an appropriate path so early in life, not to mention the good taste/luck of being in beautiful Boulder.
You are a joy to watch - all the best!

When I wrote the original post, I had forgotten that the 12th is Saturn's house of joy. Despite the name though, it's not a joyful configuration. Since the 12th is malefic, and Saturn is also a malefic, it's at home there. It brings out its malefic qualities more.

Yes, that rings true. It remains to be seen how Saturn in its native Capricorn will fare in the 12th in this chart - especially with all that company - ahh the mysteries of astrological combinations... I know someone with Saturn/Jupiter conjunct in Aquarius in the 12th - that's worked out pretty well except for a religious-fanatic father - but she's done well with it. Judging from my own experience however, I'd advise against choosing a Saturn in Scorpio in the 12th incarnation unless you're really reckless and daring . .... like me with my 1st house stellium in sag - lot's of danger, excitement, close calls and emotional torment - after 53 years it's just beginning to mellow out.... glad I made it this far...
