This is my first grow and I am using the WaterFarm hydro system. My plant is about 2 weeks old and i have had my light on 24 hours a day. When should i change my lighting to 18/6? Thanks
I like to go 24hrs for the full veg cycle, but I use CFLs to veg so I am not wasting much power, and even the diminished return on 6hrs helps. If you're useing HID to veg switch now.
It all depends on how big you want your plants to be, which is determined by your growing parameters. Plants grow about 1/2-2/3 again in height during flower. So, make sure your lighting, growing container(hydrofarms are plenty big for a large plant), and head room allow for the size plant you've got. Remember, maximizing the use of your space means larger yields, but also more ways to screw up if you're a beginner.
the plant will be healthier with at least 3 hours darkness. it uses this time to synthesise certain chemicals.
