astrology of timing

What I am going to say is a basic rule in traditional astrology, but I think it makes good sense in modern as well.

A planet always reflects what it shows in someone's natal chart. For instance, if Mercury is in your 3rd house, and it rules your 1st and 10th houses, all transits or any other predictive method will always show YOUR Mercury with significations for the 1st, 3rd, and 10th houses.

So, Mercury being in retrograde won't affect every person or thing the same way or to the same degree.

Thank you for pointing that out. The house position of natal Mercury as well as the houses it rules in one's birth chart and the position of transiting Mercury all play a role in how one experiences the Mercury retrograde cycle.

However in a general sense many people will experience miscommunications in one form or another, cancelled appointments, delivery delays, equipment malfunctions and so on - all areas ruled by Mercury.

 

Hi everyone

We are only a few days into Mercury retrograde and already I have had two cancellations. It is always interesting to observe how retrograde cycles unfold. Things usually work out just fine as long as we remember to be flexible. As a matter of fact the delays caused by this cycle are often beneficial. For example my friend was in the process of purchasing a new television about one week before Mercury was to turn retrograde. She made the purchase and delivery was scheduled for the next day. As it turned out the store thought they had the tv in stock but they didn't and the delivery would have had to be delayed several days. She decided to cancel the order. Meanwhile she has been doing some research and found the same television at an even better price. Once Mercury is direct she plans to make the purchase.
