I am here to just talk about an idea that I have - of a thought that my heart even has taken passion in. I want to live on the road, ....

In the forest, we would be living.

    On the trails.

That says a lot, I believe. Not neither as much as life not doing this. Does anyone know what I mean?

I am going to be going to next years Ocala gathering in central fLoRida.
If you don't know about the rainbow family, they are the people who do this in real life - some come to gather, but I wish to carry on with my life traveling and living on the earth. farming, learning, and even changing the world whilst peacefully living with brothers and sisters.

who else really thinks this is the way to live?
let us know each other here

I would love to try it out for a while at least. You never know until you try something.

Do you have anything more than a romantic idea? :)

Cuz friend, you should be well up on sustainable bushcraft, and have some experience under your belt if you truely want to survive within a forest setting.....

It's just something to think about if you are serious about what you are talking about

    Peace

Have you ever been to a burn? In case you have not, a burn (the main one being Burning Man) is a festival where communities (or tribes) are created on piece land where everyone contributes either an art form or means of survival . Radical self expression is encouraged. This can include costumes, nudity, or anything that you feel expresses your inner being. During these festivals a (or many) large man made effigy(s) is burned. It is truly a beautiful experience. The reason why I bring this up is because I have been looking for a way to live this life not only at festivals, but everyday. I want to create a tribe dedicated to radical self expression. I would like to incorporate a neo-gypsy feel to this tribe in living a nomadic life. If you know anywhere that I can find a tribe like this or a way to create one, let me know.

hey yeah, the rainbow family.. they do just fine living how they do, they do.

we are just people, our lives our own. but we come together and create something more beautiful then how most people live, i think.

there are the rainbow gatherings,,, you speak of burning man... and many other festivals there are...

you ever think about getting a van and traveling around that way?

well i thought about that a lot as well and i think what you want to do is fabulous. what I did instead is bought an old farm house with a lot of property out in the middle of nowhere (it is a lot harder to do what you are doing in northern canada its do able but cold). we are working on becoming self sustainable, it is a lot of hard work but wonderful and well worth it. each year you learn so much ,mainly i find you learn patience the most because it is a slow process but the more people you have to help probably the better. I originally wanted to start a commune and still do. I do have some advice, study a lot now and have a good plan. living the way you want is fabulous but it is a LOT of work. trial and error so read a lot and stick with it.

i've been talking about this with some friends for a while. we want to buy a farm, spend months at a time on the road playing music, making money through music to put back into the farm, hold giant music festivals at the farm...make and sell crafts, furniture, etc.

i have gone places just on a radom thought and i have always wanted to stay out where ever i went, i think that if a lot of people came together to support each other then it would work.

cheap land is still to be found in certain parts of the country. I found land in Idaho for 800 dollars an acre. If you could get together a group of 40 people to each chip in 800, thats a 40 acre farm right there.
