All theoretically, Would LSD be right for me?

I have some disorders and am on medication for them, but I think I am as stable as can be (or maybe as stable as i want to be) right now.

I am definitely a hippie, acid head, merry prankster, kind of person. I have not done any psychedelic drugs before though.

I know a hell of a lot about LSD, and opening the doors really is interesting to me.

The question i have is: I like how i think, act, feel right now. I am worried that if i someday did LSD that like some people say it would dramatically change the way i look at things. I wanna open my doors, but i don't want to change who i am.

    What do you think?

It can/will change you forever. If you like yourself why bother. If you'd like to open doors for yourself find and read some good books.

    - The analysis of mind: Russel Bertrand
    - The taboo against knowing who you are: Alan Watts
    - The Holy Bible
    - The end of faith: Sam Harris

These books will all provide answers and will open doors in your mind you probably never knew existed. Knowledge is power man.

Thanks. But one thing. The Bible will not open the doors. It will close them and lock em shut!

    no it won't

it lets you see where people are coming from, most of it doesn't actually condone it as such. Stories man...stories that generations have embedded in them

A big big big part of lsd, awakening is accepting ones dark side...at lest acknowledging it.

I do appreciate the rebirth, starting a new. Whether it is needed i don't know, quite rebellious against particulars of humanity..

    know thy self...everything in moderation

Just because you watch a horror movie doesnt mean you will be become an axe murderer =). Also the power of suggestion is strong, but how it effects you determines who you are.

wrong. Priests, pastors, and religion will shut doors. The Bible, if you think of it as just a story book, full of wisdom and intense philosophy, will open MANY doors for you.

the bible doesn't close doors... i really don't think ANY education closes doors, it's just all about how you approach it. that's why censorship is all bullshit... when you properly educate someone, nothing is destructive and everything is a benefit to be exposed to so you know what you're dealing with.

anyway, if you don't mind sharing what mental disorders do you have, and what medication do you take? that's definitely relevant.

aand as for being comfortable with yourself... that will either be reinforced by tripping, or you might *realize* that you aren't so comfortable after all, and you might question those things you put your comfort into. or this might not change at all.

the whole point is a LOT of things can happen. good, bad, beautiful, devestating, neutral, and more. are you willing to accept anything that might happen? you can control a lot of things about the trip, but everyone knows that sometimes things happen we could never anticipate or know about.

op- everthing changes you. i think its a ridiculous idea to not do somthing because you fear it will change you and you wont like the change. EVERYTHING IS CHANGING YOU. everything is changing. tomarrow your going to have new expiriences, day after that your going to have new expiriences. in a year you'll look back and realize how different your life has become since you wrote this post. how your expiriences have refined the details of your character is some ways, and maybe neglected or let go of others.
look back 10 years....twas a lifetime ago wasnt it? do you even recognize yourself in the child you once were? your changing, whether you can see that or not. whether you want to or not. this is going to be consistant with the rest of your life, expecially in the next 5-10 years (i think your age setting said 18....i may be mistaken)

word of advice iv found to be true: the more you resist growth and change, the more time will degrade you.

edit: dosent really matter if you eat lsd of not. do or dont. im'a jest rantin

im going to keep rantin for a minute.

we change, but our essence will always remain the same.

    a little story about me...
24 years ago my parents got together and made love. for nine months my mother carried me close to her heart, and always i could hear its beat, my own often in sync. i dont really know how she knew it was time...but when i was ready she birthed me into the world. her second gift to me. i was born perfect...no amount of hard times can ever take that away from me. i was born pure and perfect, and my heart still beats with that same cadence.

    :)p)

    This part . . .

. . . and this part are contradictory. If you're really into being a full human being, interested in opening doors, then you have to understand that there may come a day when you open a door and find it's worth it for yourself to step through. to approach this situation with the disclaimer "yeah fine as long as i dont learn anything" guarrantees failure. And not just for taking LSD.

also if your disorders are of the schizophrenic flavor i would make doubly sure you want to go through with this, as humans with that mental configuration tend to react with some considerable difficulty to LSD.

I wouldn't really call LSD some wonder drug that magically changes everything in a flash like some people make it out to sound. In essence I'm pretty much the same person I've always been even before I started messing with it. Some new idea's, ways of looking at things, but that's about it. Same dude, same heart, sense of humor, bla bla bla.

Won't say it hasn't helped me out at all, but it depends on what your intentions are. What do you think "dramatic change" consists of? Do you feel as you need to be dramatically changed? If not it probably won't change you at all. It'll just be another experience and then you move on with life.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I should have been more careful of my words, they were contradictory. I was also in a rush when i wrote em :D.

Since then i have done a lot of thinking, and learned a lot. This is a quote from jean toomer (feel free to laugh at the name, it doesn't make you immature)

"We do not posses imagination enough to sense what we are missing."
    — Jean Toomer

I was never afraid of learning and opening the doors, but was afraid of the fake crap society feeds in your mind. i was worried that i wouldn't look around and think in the process i do know which makes me, me.

Opening the DOP (doors of perception) doesn't work in that way, but in a way that is indescribable. :hat:
