I've been heavily bleeding for almost 24 hours, so bad that when I go to the bathroom there is a pool of blood in the toilet, I sometimes feel like I'm having contractions, I"m nausous, and fatigued and from what I've seen online it could be a miscarriage.

Are there any definite signs of a miscarriage, all I found is talk about IF you KNOW you are pregnant already type stuff.

I was a week and a half late, but I never took a test to know if I was or not because I wanted to wait and not waste money, just in case I was just late because of stress, my periods have been weird lately.

Get to a doc honey. If you are feeling that bad then something is going on.
Early miscarriage can be like a heavy period but you have other symptoms too so get checked out please.

GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!!!!! I had 2 1/2 days of heavy bleeding in May, became so anemic that I had to have a blood transfusion & have recently found out that I have endometric cancer. Don't mess around like I did...I waited a week after the bleeding stopped & only went to the doc b/c I couldn't breath (not enough red blood cells to carry the oxygen) The docs told me that I could have easily had a heart attack from the strain on my heart. Even if it's a miscarriage, you could easily become anemic.

Yeah, I have to agree with these two...you NEED to go to the doctor. Although we can offer you some explanations that MIGHT be correct, the only person that can give you any definite answers or care is a medical professional. Even if you're not having a miscarriage, something is definitely going on. It might be serious, it might not be. Either way it will put your mind at ease or it might save your life.

My periods are like that. They can be up to 2 weeks late with heavy bleeding and clots on the first day...so bad that I can't leave the house.

They didn't used to be like that, but after 2 kids they went haywire...

So it could also be nothing to worry about, just general aging and changing.

You should definitely get it checked out just to be sure. Maybe go to quick care or something? Be safe! I've almost bled to death not getting something similar checked out(I didn't have a miscarriage, but my blood didn't clot correctly, so I would lose large amounts on the toilet and in the shower).

  9. Go to the doctor or emergency room please, please, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried to rest as much as I could today, I don't think it's a misscarrage... but I still don't feel good, I think I'm sick because I'm anemic more then anything... I've noticed the shortness of breath that one of the posters mentioned, if I feel worse or the bleeding picks back up I'm going to go to the hospital.

I don't have insurance, and I don't want to go then have someone say, you're fine, take some iron and rest then slip me a bill for 1,000. :(

Once I start working again I"m going to get back on b/c to regulate my hormones, they are all out of wack, and that is what is causing all of this.

If something really goes bad, like I pass out of something it's not like I"m home alone, if I was I'd already have went... even the five year old can dial 911 if needed.

Just keep an eye on yourself then, and try not to worry.

Drink salty things to help pick up your blood supply, like soup.
You can also take ibuprofen to help slow the flow. Take one 200mg tablet every 4 hours while you are awake. That is what helps me.

here's a link to some heavy flow information.

Sweetie, please go to the doctor. You sound so much like me that it's scary! No insurance, didn't want big doctor bills to give me iron. They didn't give me iron, they gave me 3 units of blood, that's the equivalent of 1/5 of the total blood volumn. If you are having breathing problems, then you are in the dangerous side of anemia. On the bills, where there is a will, there is a way. If you're a single low-income mom in the US, you should be eligible for medicaid and medicaid will back pay med bills from 3 months previous. I could tell you other resources if I know where you are.

I had someone purchase some one a day vitamins for women, spend most of my day laying down and so I feel much better today, honestly.

Today it seems my period is about done, I am going to go to a doctor to look into horomne theropy though, I've had a lot of issues in the past three or four months with irregularity. Sometimes two in a month!

Maybe my hormones are out of way, I'm guessing they are still crazy after having the baby, that or it's not used to not being pregnant yet.

Two years after I started my period I became pregnant, two and a half later, I was pregnant again, and a year and a half later... again. Now it's 18 months laster and I'm not pregnant.
