Hardcore is lame as fuck and should stay away from metal At the Behemoth show last night, the singer from God Forbid was all pissed at me and kept having stare downs trying to be all intimidating. I just kept giving him cold stares and then pointed at my Behemoth shirt. He then went on to give a speech about how everyone should smile and have a good time. all i say to that is BEHEMOTH
Getting stared at by one of the people in the band is always funny. I was at a small festival my city has and this old washed up band called April Wine were playing there. They used to be huge in the 70's selling out arena's and everything. But now they were stuck playing at wingfest. A chicken wing festival. So I'm right in the front with all my friends and these guys were playing terribly. It didn't even look like they were having fun. A song finally ended and I leaned over to my friend and I said "these guys are pathetic lets leave" and the singer must have saw me somehow and said "if you don't like our music why would you come" trying to embarass me, and I normally I wouldn't say anything but I was on E so I screamed "Play I wanna rock and get off the stage!" and he said "that's twisted sister". I was pissed but started laughing.. But then my friend yelled "at least they aren't playing at a chicken wing festival" and lots of people in the crowd laughed. ...Damn that night was funny.
A lot of hardcore and hardcore influenced bands were among Darkthrone's influences and contemporaries. Ever listen to Amebix? You can even hear some punk influence on Transilvanian Hunger. Don't equate modern tough guy hardcore (throwdown, hatebreed) or emo-core with "hardcore."
Yeah I have to say that is some of the worst music in my opinion. Hatebreed...it's like...every one of their songs sounds alike. vocals, guitars, drums, they don't even change it. And i've seen their live videos...oh god those damned kids hardcore dancing...it's the worst. I wonder who even thought that shit up..
Can someone explain this breakdown thing? Cuz I was pretty sure me and my friends that listen to metal [only about 15 of them] knew what it was. But then people are bitching about job for a cowboy having breakdowns. I sort of hear them in DOOM but in their new stuff I don't really hear it. I thought these were breakdowns. haha damn you're deep man. I have NEVER heard any other kid say that. You should have your own show dude...unique stuff..
Hardcore & death metal are both generally not for me. From those three I only dig black metal. It just my kind of extreme metal I guess. Live though, I can enjoy death, grind and hardcore very well most of the time. Just live music in general is fun (if it's not complete rubbish)
Indeed, Darkthrone has plenty of hardcore influence, especially if you listen to anything post-Hate Them. I'm just so used to hardcore being considered that screechy emo-crossover bullshit that I forget that there used to be actual thought put into that music (as drugged-out and unmusical as it is mostly). And Shaw-Min, your sig is fucking brilliant. Why don't more people know the wizard?
