How does he pay the property taxes on his BatCave? Surely he couldn't have lived there for a long enough period of time to claim it as his own BatCave.

I live off of social security disability, since they were not at all Shaman. They are but damn they are so freaking corrupt and don't share the good drugs. They have a life time supply of bad dreams, I don't know what else I would want to do for money. It seems that everything dies on me most of the time.

He still has the need for material possessions. There isn't a difference between obtaining them through foraging and rummaging and paying for them with money. Perhaps it's a symbolic statement against consumerism, useless and arbitrary as it is. It's very possible to use money and not be a consumerist.

From the sounds of it, you could probably grow everything you need (healthy living would be raw or vegan, at the least?). If you're going to live without money, might as well garden.

No I'm not a vegan, I eat some meat because I like it and it spares me from having to rely too heavily on concentrated carbohydrates for calories. If I was a vegan I would need a source of non animal vitamin b12, which would involve having my own laboratory, which would cost money and require me to become a chemist. So on top of having to farm a wide variety of vegetables all day, which would be bullshit and nearly impossible, I would have to raise animals and kill them myself, which would be bullshit, and I still wouldn't have high quality nutritional supplements and health products.. I would rather just work 8 hours a day and do what I love to do for the rest of it rather than laboring inhuman amounts of hours for worse nutrition, not to mention I wouldn't have access to a doctor or hospital.

Government is definitely over-stepping its rights when it evicts someone from a cave.

its a great article, and hopefully you(stabby) read the entire thing..yes the quote about past present and future could be debated, i guess. but the article as a whole presents the peacefulness of our natural state of being. no hes not living in a tribe, as our ancestors and our species are meant to, but he is seeking a better way, for himself. an easier, healthier and more natural way.. its sad that you had to throw so much doubt into this thread, but i guess we all must learn and ask, learn and ask.

Highly debatable. Would you like to try?

I just think that he has failed to flourish in our world and is running and hiding. For those of us who have thrived in the regular world, we would never think of condemning ourselves to such a fate. It's not as if we're missing anything that he isn't.

Although perhaps running away is best for him if he has to utterly failed to find happiness and fulfillment amongst society. My point is that his lifestyle choice is anything but laudable.
