one in nine americans on food stamps. are you?

thats a mind boggling number to me. we are not,have never been and dont plan on being on food stamps. nor have we ever gotten food from a food pantry or the government hand out programs.

so i was wondering how many here are on food stamps?

 

I don't recieve any US government foodstamps.

 

I have never received any government assistance of any kind

 

At our poorest we have been above income for food stamps.We did get the WIC thing when our kid was a baby- does it count those people?
It blows my mind so many people qualify.

i dont, but if i came on hard times i wouldn't have a problem with it. after all, i have been paying taxes out of my checks for years. it would be my own money.

You know, I'm actually surprised it isn't higher than that anymore what with the economy and unemployment being as high as it's been.

FTR, no, my family and I have never been issued food stamps, gone to a food pantry or been on any form of public assistance.

 

I'm not on food stamps, but I am on gov't assistance for something else.

 

The unemployment numbers come out tomorrow. It will be bad, but still far off from the REAL unemployment numbers they don't tell you. Real unemployment is closer to 18% last I checked.

 

Real unemployment is almost impossible to fully conceive

how is this scam done nowadays since they are on cards? another poster made this claim on here but i wasnt going to get into it with her.
you are more easily approached so i must ask..
do you just buy the whole card,or do you give them your receipt after using it or what?

this can be done a couple ways: one goes into a store w/ recipient. recipient "buys" whatever they desire. ebt owner pays for it. they exchange cash outside of store. sometimes in these cases, recipient will attempt to cheat ebt`er. it`s quite simple really. if one trusts recip a bit more one can just loan one`s ebt to recip.i`ve actually seen ppl w/ wireless card readers. there`s an individual in SF who actually goes into the ebt office w/ one. they throw her out quite a bit. it`s a million dollar industry. 7 actually in my opinion it`s quite innocent compared to other fraud.

 

no doubt.. give it a year we will be average for a third world country..

No not on food stamps or any government assistants atm but I will be joining the military soon, where everything will be taken care of (food, healthcare, lodging). Does that count?

 

Most third world countries cannot afford $51 billion because their currency has been devalued, as ours is well on the way to becoming through actions like this.
