It was entirely necessary to end the war. Sure, we could have had a long and drawn out war, but to be honest, using the atom bomb saved lives.

    Bullshit.

That's only what they taught you in school. Doesn't mean it's true. The Japanese were getting ready to surrender anyway.

The Japanese were stockpiling weapons and digging in for a long, protracted fight. Over seventy thousand tonnes of noodles were stored in the basement of the Royal Tokyo Ballet -- the ballet had been closed down in light of the war. Streets were blockaded with tank traps and roadblocks, which soon got stolen by poor Japanese people who sold them for scrap. They never, owing to fierce protests by the Japanese in the United Nations, did chemical tests on parts of Hiroshima: the Japanese insist that there will be no traces of explosives in the basement of the Governor's Mansion, yet the house was decimated by a secondary explosion in the basement.

    You're a sheep

People are complaining because it was a very wrong thing to do

One day we will be forced to pay for that mistake

Our intent and willingness to use nuclear strikes will be why somebody does it to us in preventative nature

It was the wrong thing to do because it cost so many lives?
NOT having done it would have cost more lives, which makes it the more positive action of the two.

I am not a liberal -- far from it. I just don't blindly swallow all the crap that's fed to me by General Electric's History Channel and the state-controlled public indoctrination system.

The idea that wars fought are us vs. them is a misconception some people will never grasp. Both sides of every major war are ALWAYS funded by the same people. It's called REAL history. Look at who funded the Nazis. Where did they get the fuel additive needed to fly their planes? The US backed Japan into a corner to get them to act preemptively because FDR was dying for war.

I G Farben company of Germany by John D Rockefeller's Standard Oil corporation. I G Farben supplied over 80% of the explosives used by the Nazis and also produced Zyclon B - one of the chemicals used in the mass-murder of Jews in Nazi concentration camps.
The allegation includes the supply of a patented fuel additive by Standard Oil to I G Farben - without the use of this additive it is alleged that the German Air Force would have been incapable of flight, their grounding would obviously have rendered them unable to have the serious impact on the conflict that in actuality they did.

i think we should praise the Continental Congress for the creation of a nation that even hundreds of years later would rather fight and die than infringe upon the liberty of its citizens

Standard Oil had every right to sell to Germans and it is good that they were permitted it
